Taxol reaction?

I had my 6th Taxol treatment today with double Herceptin since they are giving me next week off. About 40 cc into the Taxol my arms started to go numb and were heavy. Also, my head felt odd (could have been the Benadryl) and my chest felt a little strange too. They stopped immediately and the doc came out. He said to give me Ativan and to wait 30 minutes and restart slowly. It took an extra 2 hours because of this. I was not nervous or anxious, I was just sitting there talking to me mother. Now I wonder what will happen. Will he continue the Taxol, switch to something new, up the Benadryl and/or steroids? Anyone have experience with this?

BTW, I am typing this after midnight because on my treatment nights I CANNOT SLEEP!!!!

    Hi Cathie,

    I had a reaction after my 4th Taxol, but I forgot to take my Decadron beforhand so that is probably why. My chest tightened up and they had to give me a large amount of Solumederol and Benadryl for it to open up. Kinda freaked me out. They told me Taxol reactions are fairly common. They also changed my infusion from 1 hour to 90 minutes. Good luck to you, I know it kinda freaked me out, but all tx's since then I have been fine.

    Good morning,

    I didn't have the same reaction as you both did.

    But when I had my treatment of Taxol and Herceptin.   They gare me predrugs that were-Adivan-for nausia,,Pepsid-for stomach problems, Benadryl-for any allergic reaction to the drugs and Decadron-still don't know what that was for.   I guess they all would prevent reaction to the chemo drugs.
