Jacqueline
For those of you who know Jacqueline from the boards, please note that she is in South Lake Hospital, Newmarket. She is having breathing problems. I am not a religious person but thought that those who are would like to send up a prayer. Thank you.

Jacqueline is doing better... she is able to talk again. Thanks for whoever sent up a prayer.

I spoke to Jacqueline this morning. Due to lung mets she is finding it harder and harder to breathe. She is scared. I am scared and I cannot get to her side. Please pray for her.... thank you.

-
Dreamwriter,
My thoughts and prayers are with you and Jacqueline. I am also in Ontario.

Dreamwriter......... I will pray that her fear is resolved. I will pray for her courage in the face of the unknown and I will ask for continued support for you as you support her. We are all woven together here.
It is a gift to care about others. You have shared that gift with Jacqueline and with us here, by starting this thread. I know that you have been a blessing to each other, as that's easy to grasp from your concern. Thanks for keeping us posted on a sister in need.

Jacqueline was on a ventilator yesterday and last night. They took her off it this morning. She is still feeling that she is not getting enough air while on oxygen. Her spirits seem to be holding. Please keep those prayers going..... Thank you.
-
Jacqueline is continuing on oxygen and appears to be slowly recovering (or getting used to breathing ) she has been moved to private room (am not sure if that is good or not).
-
Dreamwriter,
Prayers for Jacqueline that she continues to do better and better.
Thank you for letting us know.

I am sorry to report that although her spirits are up, Jacqueline is physically declining. She is not getting the air she needs and she is on morphine to calm her. Her husband has said that the situation is serious and has moved into the private room with her. Please send prayers... at this point, he just wants her to be at peace.
-
She is still in good spirits and hanging in. Hubby stayed the night. She did not find that unusual.... told her we are all sending good wishes her way.

Checked in with Jacqueline this afternoon. Doctors are not happy with her oxygen levels. Something is draining it away. Jacqueline will have her 3rd procedure where they take a scope into her lungs to try to find an answer. It is good news that they are still trying. And Jacqueline, bless her heart, is still in a positive spirit.

Jacqueline says that she is doing chemo again. She is not ready to quit. However the drugs put her to sleep for most of the day. Im hoping she'll get better and get mad at me for being so negative. Unfortunately I think she will be my first chat angel. I am still giving her my heart and after each call, it breaks a little more. But I cannot stop being her support. I hope that someone will call me and lie to me too. Just because they havent given up. There is still hope.
-
oh dream. thank you for keeping this vigil for Jacquiline. we are indeed each other's life line. there is still hope. i'm glad to hear that her spirits are up -- even if 'reality' as we understand it, would possibly dictate otherwise.
we will be here for you, while you are there for her. you are doing such a brave and selfless act, to care for her during these trying and unknown times.
bless you both.

Thank you Faith.
I am really thinking of finding a way to get to her. I would have to impose on someone with a vehicle... but there are several who would do it for me. Im thinking of giving her something personal.... my bear.... it is not a teddy, it is a polar bear I named Crystal. She has been to hospital with me most of the time. Crystal has been well loved. If I pass it on, it will be like leaving a hug behind. And she can get it anytime she wants. So tomorrow night I will phone around and see if anyone can drive me Saturday or Sunday.
This is hard for me, I too have the same mets, and I could die in the same manner.... not getting enough air and drugs making me not anxious about that. I could see my husband saying keep trying, keep fighting and going home and crying because it would only be a matter of time. I just pray I have a year or two before now and then.
-
Dreamwriter, I pray that you have a lot longer that a year or two, now that I have found you I need you. I am praying for your friend, to keep fighting, to have no pain, to be able to breath better for the chemo to kick out that cancer. Please let me know what happens. How far away does she live from you? Hope you get to go see her.

Hi Dreamwriter,
Just wanted to let you know that you are in my thoughts and prayers and that I hope Jacqueline gets better.....and dare I say it, if not that she passes peacefully and without pain.
I hope that the chemo helps and gives her some relief, and that her breathing becomes easier.
-
I'm thinking of Jackie and of you, Dreamwriter, in this 'suspended animation'...the space between this life and what follows. Look at the stars tonight..we are all part of this glorious creation and we are all connected. Know that my prayers are for deep, deep inner peace for all of you.
My Mum had really bad lung mets and I was so very afraid for her. She passed so peacefully that I marvel about it still.
I hope you get there. Much love. Kerry

Well thanks to this board I managed to get a ride to Jacqueline and surprise her. Thanks Sharon56. Jacqueline was looking a little perky and seemed to enjoy about an hour's visit. Maybe longer, time does fly when you are with friends. It did my heart good to see her. She is starting to get sore feet from Xeloda (a little red). But her hands are fine and her smile was perfect. Thanks to everyone who have offered support to both of us. I will keep you updated as we go along. Today was a good day for everyone.
-
I am looking for people to send an email that I can forward to Jacqueline with hope and love and prayers. Talking tires her out so using this medium can show that there are many people out there who care.
-
what a brilliant idea!!
-
Excellent idea...Im in...what do we do next??
-
She is enjoying the emails... Bill is bringing a few in each day. I also sent her all of my writing so she could read (she asked). It was so wonderful to meet. Keeping her updated as much as possible on what is going on.... she seems to love hearing about Vegas... sorta enjoying second hand.... I guess.
-
Well finally some good news. A spot on her lung has started to clear... they dont know if it is the cancer responding to xeloda or if it was infection responding to anti-biotics. Either way... its a bit of good news.
-
Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh happppppppppppppppppppy day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
any news is good news , it was wonderful meeting you dreamwriter ! I gotta get an e mail to her dh . Girls it was a good day when we all met.... strength in numbers brought a smile to her face !
-
Jacqueline had a rough day. She slept due to the increase in morphine. I did get in our daily chat since I called during a wakeful period. She and I are pretending to redecorate the room since she has to be in it so long... she is suggesting wallpaper and I suggested a shelf for the angel and flowers. What idle minds can produce huh!
-
Dream,
Add my prayers for Jacqueline (my sister's name, too) and you to those of others here. Thanks for being her support and friend during this horrible scary time for you both.
Sue
