Vitamin D and other tests?

Options

Hey all you intelligent ladies!  I need to pick your brains on what to ask for when I see the doc, if you would allow me to! :D

I plan to see my PCP as I've still not heard about switching oncos and besides it's another 2 months before I'm due for the 6 mo F/U.

SO.....I'm dealing with a lot of pain in the hips and one upper thigh area for the last week, and wondering if it's arimidex, or something more sinister....arthitis or what?

So, what test should he be running for Vitamin D levels and/or calcium or others to see if I'm okay there?  I had an elevated Calcium level last time at 10.6 (not bad, but any is not good either) in april.  I'm just curious if this is b/c of my bones losing calcium or something wrong endocrine wise or what?  So...what would you expect from this doc when you see him and what would you ask for, if he's hems and haws....

Thanks a ton!

Oh, and what supplements, vitamin D, calcium and so on are needed IF he finds it's depleted or such?

Thanks a ton!  I'm hoping to get in to see him today or tomorrow!

:D

My best friend does not have cancer, however, her regular doctor visit had her take a Vitamin D blood test and the results were fine for calcium, extremely low on D... She scored 7 where it is supposed to be 20 or 30, so he gave her an Rx for 50,000 iu D once a week for 3 months then retest.  I reckon I'll be asking my doc next week about it too.... I've had one chemo session with Abraxane, Cytoxan and Herceptin and 2 other Abraxane treatments in the past 3 weeks.  Yeah... get that D tested.
