arimidex-joint pain

Options

On Jan 24th I finished chemo and radiation for breast cancer and ended up with numbness to hands and feet. After taking Arimidex for 5 months started to have severe pain in wrist/elbow/shoulder and knee. Finally saw onc dr today and he felt pain not related to medication but he did switch me to Tamoxifen. I noticed that others had joint pain with arimidex wondering how long if ever does pain go away and what can I expect from Tamoxifen. Also how long before numbness to hands and feet from Toxal chemotherapy. Starting to feel really discouraged as I feel I should be getting better instead of worse

So many friends mention people they know having no trouble with either the chemo or arimidex and here I am still struggling along.

I have been on Arimidex for 3.5 years now. At the beginning, I did notice increasing achiness and generalized pain - nothing debilitating but certainly it affected my well being. Sometime between year 1.5 and 2.5, the pain disappeared. That is not much help, but it shows there is hope and the timing is highly individual!  My neuropathy from taxol was minor, but also existed. Now it is gone.

Thanks for the feedback. I sure hope that switching to Tamoxifen makes it easier. My neuropathy to hands and feet was very painful. With the pain in wrist and elbow, some days I can't even hold a glass, very limited what I can do, but I do my exercise very day. I thought Tamoxifen wasn't as hard on the bones, but in reading info from others taking tamoxifen am not so sure.
