Orderin foobs online???

Options

Hi gals, I have a pair of silicone foobs bought about 6 months ago. I was about a 36C before dbl mast. surgery and really wanted nothing larger in prosthetics. When I was fitted I told them I didn't want large breasts, suggested an A or B cup was fine for me. I was fitted with a pocketed bra which were filled in with what I was told were size A foobs,They seemed at least as big as my breasts, more firm and fuller. When I got home I tried the foobs in my bra and they were HUGE and barely fit into the C cup! After wearing for a few months I find them heavy and HOT.

I've lost weight and feel these foobs are WAY to big for my 5 ft 2" frame. Has anyone had luck ordering foobs online? Where? How do you know what size to order, can they be exchanged? Are there lightweight 'summer' boobs? I really want only a hint of a bossom. Don't want to be accused of 'falsie' advertizing!

    My favorite online store.

There are breast form charts to help you figure out what size

You can call them if you have questions.  The ladies are very nice.

I'm about your height.  A size 6 is about a B cup on me.  I wouldn't think that you want anything bigger than a 7.

I hope you'll check out my non-profit website: BreastFree.org. Many women from bc.org contributed their recommendations for good breast forms etc. I don't endorse or profit from any product, I just try to put the best possible information out there for women like us (I had a bilateral mastectomy in October, 2006). If you check the Breast Forms section you'll find comfortable options in both silicone and non-silicone. I've had good success ordering forms online. And the prices are often better than in stores.

I have the Still You Illusions that Madalyn mentioned and like them. They run big, so if you want to be small, order the A size. Right now I'm wearing a new form, the Silique Comfort-Lite, an ultra-lite form with a fabric back that can be worn in a regular bra. The Still You form, the Silique form,  and others are reviewed in the Breast Forms section of BreastFree.org. To order online, check out the Helpful Links section at BreastFree. I list several sites where women have had good experiences buying breast forms and bras online. Also, I've heard good things about MetroMedicalOnline. Here's a link to their site: http://www.metromedicalonline.com/mastectomy-products.html.

    Hope this helps. Good luck!

    Dear alittlebird,

I have had good luck ordering Pals online.  You'll see them on BreastFree.org.  They make a gel form, and the smallest size is about a 36-A on me.  Barbara actually got a custom size a half-size smaller for only $10 more, I think.  I've been very happy with mine.  (My fitter pushed a bigger size on me than I wanted in the silicone ones, and I hardly wore them at all...just too big.)  Good luck and happy shopping.

Yes, I do like the Pals forms, too! If you order a custom size, they will work with you until they get it right. A pair of Pals costs only about $50, so compared to silicone forms, they're a bargain, even with the extra cost for customizing. I needed the smaller size, since I'm a 34 band size and on me the size Dawn wears (the smallest standard size) is a 34B. I wanted something smaller and even lighter weight. My custom forms fit me as an A.

Thanks to everyone for your great suggestions and websites to try. If I can get a pair for under $100 I'll be happy. My insurance will replace my current pair in 2 years but I can't live with these Dolly Partons for that long!Wink

Thanks for all the helpful tips and links! The Pals look really interesting. Right now I only have the Ameona Natura and would like something else to use when swimming or for a change and also less costly!

Erica, your website is really coming along nicely. I am finding it very informative and helpful...thanks for getting it together!

Also, try http://www.metromedicalonline.com/mastectomy-products--breast-forms.html.  They have many forms that are a lot cheaper on line than going to a store.  I was wearing 34 B before my bilateral mastectomy.  I am now using size 4 which means a B cup.

Through my insurance during my reconstructive fills, I received two bras and the breast form. Now that my reconstruction is complete, I do not need them. I would love to send them to anyone who could use them. The bra label size is 40b. The form is definitely a c/d cup size. I normally wear a 38D. Thanks, Diane

If you knit, you can make your own, using the pattern in the link below. They can be lightweight; don't opt for the stone weight mentioned in the pattern. Sounds great for hot climates if made with a soft cotton yarn that absorbs perspiration. There's also the option of using a warm yarn for winter in cold climates. The pattern (for cups A through DD) is provided for personal use only, and is available through this link:

     www.knitty.com/ISSUEfall05/PATTbits.html

This link also provides another link to the website of the person who designed the pattern. She reserves the right to sell them, which seems fair enough.
