I've had a lumpectomy and sentinel node biopsy (one out of two nodes positive) and axillary clearance (don't know the status of these yet). I know I an Estrogen and Progest positive (I don't know Her status yet). I am scared to find out what treatment the doctors are going to offer me tomorrow when all the resluts will be available. Does anyone know what treatment might be suggested? What can I expect? Does it depend on the axillary node results entirely? I had a grade 1 tumor 3cm and am 48 years old.

If your HER status is negative...based on 1 positive node and the size of your tumor, you will probably have ac + t, (possibly 4 of each, every 2 weeks). If your HER is positive, you will probably have the same, but also a year of Herceptin? ...Although...I am no expert... hopefully someone with a similar dx as yours will chime in. Best wishes to you.

(AC) Andrimiacin/Cytoxin (unsure of exact spelling) +  (T)Taxol or Taxotere - they're forms of chemo. Also...you may want to read this: http://www.breastcancer.org/treatment/chemotherapy/who_gets_it.jsp It explains more about "who" needs chemo, etc.

My Aunt has the same problem at the age of 38 few months ago. Now she is better. I searched the Internet to find out information on this disease. I found some useful content on http://www.freebreastcancerguide.com, hope it'll help you too.
