Any other ILC's after taking Premarin?

I read an interesting article linking ILC with long term Premarin use. I took Premarin for 15 years up until the night of my ILC biopsy results- my doc assured me over an dover the small dose I was on was safe. Just wondering if others here used Premarin and have ILC?

    There are articles showing 10 years on premarin raises your risk considerably.  It is the single biggest cause of post menopause lobular which is estrogen dependent.  That is why the aromatase inhibitors work so  well and chemo is of no benefit for lobular cancer.  You need a new Doc.  To be fair no one understood this 15 years ago.  Go research at pub med.

    I actually did get a new doc just before diagnosis, as my old doc would not listen to my Premarin concerns. The new doc was ready to wean me off over the course of a few weeks, and three days later I was diagnosed with BC!

    Some ILC does benefit from chemo, actually. We've got neoadjuvant ILC chemo girls on this board who are living proof of that. Just b/c the tumor is hormone positive doesn't mean that chemo isn't warranted.

    I took premarin for 20 years and stopped when diagnosed.  I did do chemo, the red devil and cytoxin.  My onc says it does fight lobular.

    cancer is a crapshoot.

    NO HRT as I was 49 (1 month shy of 50) when dx and still getting regular periods.

    I've wondered if birth control pills contributed to this......who knows.

    I had been taking Fenhrt for at least 8 years prior to my diagnosis.  I have always been very careful to get my annual pap smear and mammo.  My gyn thought I was very low risk for cancer since no family history for breast cancer.  He is also one to consider quality of life issues which are important to me as well.  I quit the HRT pretty much right after my confirming ultrasound.  Although I've heard all the stats, I think in my heart of hearts that it is a crapshoot.

    My mom was on premarin for several years before her diagnosis of bc and colon ca.   She had to go off it immediately.  Fortunately, she is a survivor of over 21 years of ILC with no recurrence and is still doing well at age 79.
