Good news Janie on you Dr. apt. . The workmans comp. can be sticky about C.P, good luck with that. Did they give you a wrist brace or have you tried one yet? I saw shoulder Dr. yesterday and shoulder is doing really good lately. He said he thought neck was causing a lot of my pain and he will give me a shot when I need one. He thought the C.P. was causing some of my numbness in fingers so go back to brace for a while. Oh well, at least my pain is better as long as I don't move a lot. We are leaving today and it is rainy and going to be all wk. end. Darn! This is a good show, a big hot air balloon festival. I hope we do well. The temps are dropping at night now so it gets really chilly. Fall is in the air already. We will be back Sun. night. I have been busy making jewelry because I have sold quite a bit. Thats a good thing. Well hope all is good with you P.J. and really glad you are clear Janie, my little buddy. Have a good wk. end girls. Hugs, Mary

I did not even think about workman's comp last year or I would have gone to the doctor then.  I waited to see if it got better over the summer break.  Then someone told me carpal tunnel comes under workman's comp.  I looked it up on the web and it is supposed to come under it.  The pain started when I was typing so many reports in the Spring.

Anyway, the tech just said my doc would get a report in a couple of days.  Since my next apt is not until 9/2, I am guessing that is when I learn something.  The topical cream is making it feel somewhat better.

I do hope you have a good show Mary.  It is 87 degrees here as we speak.

    Hugs to all,  Janie

Hey girls... OK, let's see if I can do this right.... Last time I messed something up apparently.

Janie, you getting any of that rain from Fay yet? I'm sure it's coming. We actually have gotten a ton of rain and went from drought to no drought in a couple of days. I'm sure the skeeters will be here at any time. How's the wrist?

Mary, chilly nights sounds pretty good, but I wonder if that means you'll have an early fall/winter? Isn't it time for you to get your little traveling roadshow down to the Southwest for the winter? I'm glad you're selling so much stuff. You have much more patience than I do, making your jewelry.

Nancy, GOSH, girl, the hospital again! They need to name a wing after you. Hope you're doing well....

and JoAnne, hugs to you in this tough time.  And I hope chemo is kind to you (and kicks cancer butt).

Well, school starts Monday. As if Nathan weren't already anxious over 5th grade math (me, too) and bullies, he's now REALLY got a problem with school. They changed out all the Macs for PCs, and he is very unhappy about that.

     Take care girls!

    Smile  Hey all,

Actually, it is not so much the wrist.  The pain runs from the pinkie down that side of the hand and the palm mostly.  Sometimes the thumb, and sometimes generates down the arm.  The tech said my doc would get a report in a couple of days.  Nobody there told me anything.  They went ahead and scanned several areas, not just the hand.  It is so strange because my docs check out everything and I read posts from others who have problems getting some things checked that are really worrying them.

We have had some pretty stout winds, but only a few minor showers.  I am sure Fay will show up sooner or later.

Wow! PJ, we started back July 25 and the students a few days later !  I remember back when we always started the day after labor day.... many years ago.

We are really feeling the budget cuts, even in the big system I work in.

    Sell lots Mary!

Hope everybody is well and stays that way.  J

LaughingSince last I was here...I closed the daycare and moved to Plentywood...got a job working full time at the daycare here and another job working part time at the motel front desk!!  Love both jobs and especially love living in the same town with my brother and family...my 5 year old nephew and I ride bikes all the time...I ride my bike to work at the daycare across town and to the motel too which is on the other side of town...good thing that the town isn't all that big...I moved closer to my church which is in ND.  It only takes me a little over an hour to get there now...I am feeling GREAT...still take a bazillion pills a day to keep me feeling well, but I think that I'm finally getting away from all the stresses in my life and back to the NancyLee that I used to be...I WILL check in more now and I will e-mail you with my new address...It is different and so I moved all your addresses over to the new one and all I have to do is send you my new one...Yay...Happy to be back...I will take some time over the next few days to read back and see what you are all up to...Life is GoodSmileSmilesWinkNancyLeeLaughing

Hey Girls, glad to hear from you N.L. You have been missed. Janie, I am glad they are checking everything. I think  C.P. can cause nerve supression and hence the pain in arm and numbness. I hope you have no problems with Workman's Comp. I think some insurances are easier than others to get it. You have a good Dr. and those are hard to come by. I think most are so busy trying to make so much money over booking they loose their reason for being a Dr. We did pretty good the past wk. end, not great but every little bit helps. We are staying home this wk. end. We only have a few festivals left. Yea, I think fall is on the way. It gets down right cold at night. We have to wait until the Dr. gives hubby o.k. to go with his shoulder and my dad has his eye surgery on both eyes. We are planning on leaving in Nov. My Dad is having trouble walking now. I am affraid something is going to come with him. I am trying to nip anything in the bud quickly there like talking to him about a mobility scooter, and he doesn't think he needs one he just has to sit down every 10 steps because his back hurts so bad. Come heck or high water; as the saying goes; I will be on my way. Well I better get out and check my calander to see when my dad has his next apt. and I think that is tomorrow. He will call me a hundred times because he will forget the day and time a hundred times so I need to check it all out so I can repeat myself over and over. Glad the gangs all here. Hugs, Mary

Hey girls, hows everyone? Hope you still have your job Paula. Nancy, glad you are doing so well. You sound really happy. Janie, hows the hand, still have it? Joking. Heard from Rene and she is doing great and busy. Dr. seems to think some of my hand numbness is from C.P. good lord. He said to wear my brace again when it gets bad. I better get, I have jewelry to make. Hugs, Mary

Hey, Mary, cool that you heard from Rene. When I met her that one time, she seemed like she'd be busy all the time (as opposed to me, sloth-like as much as possible). Glad to hear your plans are going full speed ahead.

So far so good on the job. I think it'll take them awhile to sell the paper. Not exactly a hot market at the moment.

NL, Mary's right, you sound very happy. SO glad you are in a good situation, and that biking has got to be good for you (so long as you don't over do it).

Hugs, Janie. Keep those kids in line.

Me? I'll spend another night in front of the tube watching the Dems. Be interesting to see how Obama does tonight.

Welcome back Nancy Lee.  Your new life style sounds great!

Hey Mary, It has been a very long time since we heard from Renee.  I was just wondering about her the other day.

PJ.  You are right, not too many people are going to invest in a new business at this time.  They need to invest in a tank of gas instead.

Speaking of the school kids.  We had a tornado warning a couple of days ago.  The tornado drill requires them to get on their knees facing the wall and bend over holding their heads down with their hands.  So we monitored the halls and all you could see was hinnys lined up everywhere.  I guess if the tornado had hit us, the staff would have blown away since we were walking around.

I have watched some of the convention.  Years ago, I always watched both of them, back when things were exciting.  You did not know who the VP candidate was and some interesting negotiations went on like Reagan trying to talk Ford into being his VP (after he was president), but it fell through because Ford insisted on a co-president type job, not to mention the 68 Dem convention and seeing Dan Rather get hit on the head among other things by out-of-control delegates.

I have a follow-up apt Tuesday.  The nurse called today and was quite happy to tell me I did not have a recurrence (bone scan).  Of course I was glad to hear that, but I really did not expect a recurrence.  It was just a precautionary measure the doc did because of my bc history.  I really did not think it had recurred.  She said the scan was normal.  I asked what about the x-ray and she said he only mentioned the scan.  I asked if he found the source of my pain and she just repeated the scan was normal.  Well, of course, I am glad about no recurrence and a normal scan, but I really want to know why my hand and now my arm hurts.  I have a high tolerance for pain, but It got pretty bad at work today.

Anyway, I guess I might know something Tuesday.  I heard them talking about a baseball player tonight who was repeatedly told nothing was wrong with his elbow.  Turned out he had bone spurs and had surgery.  I really hope he does not simply tell me I'm fine or something.

Hey Girls, hope you are all having a great Holliday wk. end. Janie, I hope your pain is something simple to fix. . It sounds like you have had some excitement at school. Glad your scan was clear....We stayed home this wk. end. A lady from down the road that walks by everyday asked hubby what he was doing home on the wk. end. We are cooking out at my daughters tomorrow and celebrating toolman's birthday which was the 29th. He turned 58. Well, everyone have a good one. Later and hugs, Mary

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY TOOLMAN !!!!!!!!!!!!! Smile

You are still a youngin.  I hope everyone has a great time at the cookout.

Just saw a special report on BC and other cancers on CBS.  It appears that there is much in the works for a cure and a lot of it sounds promising.  An expert from Sloan K talked about a ray gun that you point at the site and it zaps cancer cells.  I think I saw something about that before.

    Everyone enjoy the holdiay!

    Janie

Okay, so I fibbed about the tomorrow thing!!  I worked on Sat., Sun., and Labor Day at the motel...it turned rainy and COLD here so I had to take my jeep instead of the bike..we had a ton of kids at the daycare today because it was the first day of preschool.  My nephew was there and his mom and dad both came with him.  He's such a lucky kid!!  I may be teaching a class of preschoolers starting next Monday if that leaves enough caregivers upstairs with the babies and toddlers.  At this point I'm having so much fun with that group that I don't care if I get a class to teach or not.  It's supposed to frost the pumpkins tonight so I'm going to go snuggle into bed and get some sleep.  I WILL be back tomorrow!!!  Life is extremely GoodLaughingSmilesSmileNancyLeeSmile

Hey girls, we are off tomorrow for a Pow wow. We are taking the camper even though we will be about an hour away, hubby just wants to use that camper when ever we can. The gas is high so it does help with the cost. Nancy, you, sound so very happy. I think you sure made a good choice moving. Janie, Paula, you guys get any rain yet? I think we get it Thurs. and Fri. Our Pow Wow starts Fri. Hope it doesn't rain too bad but they say we will get a lot and the ground is hard and dry so it should be nasty. I better go. My youngest sister is staying and today is her last day so I better go get us some donuts. Later, Mary

Nope, no rain for us..... Janie, glad to hear about the no recurrence news. Now if they can just get the other cleared up. Man, has to be frustrating to have to wait so long to find an answer.

Pow wow? That sounds fun. Do you have to wear a headdress? I think you'd look great in a headdress.

Nancy, it's already getting cold up there? Sheesh, it's only the beginning of September! Does that mean a long cold winter ahead? Well, I guess that's pretty usual for you guys.

Not much up here. Work's crazy, school's good and Nathan and I got great new bikes and are having fun riding them. (OK, not as much probably as we should, but wait til the fall)

Guess I should turn in.  It is late.

Hey girls, it poured all day yesterday so we are leaving here soon and set up today. The Pow Wow starts at 4 so we will have plenty of time. I don't want to hear any more of that nasty talk from you Janie, like bike. I don't use those kinds of bad words. You ride a bike then soon your jogging and walking and your addicted. I watch people ride bikes and it looks pretty dangerous to me. Ahhh, we sold ours last year because of our shoulders. We couldn't ride anymore. Besides toolman rode like he was in a freaking marathon and I would be blocks behind just wanting to enjoy myself. He looked like the bad witch on Wizzard of Ozz and I looked like a relaxed biker, I quit ridding with him. Well I gotta get so bye. Hugs girls, Mary

Everyone have a great weekend!  Watching any of the U.S. Open?  Several from the U.S.A. did well this year.  Looks like some rising stars.

Hey girls, burrr... It is cooling off quickly. The nights are cold. We did pretty good over the wk. end. We have to go get some supplies today. Janie, just stop and think about the whole bike thingy. If you ride and then you get over the soreness and you start to lose some weight. Then you ride some more and you lose more wt. Then you have to buy new clothes, costly....Then your out ridding one day minding your own business and some good looking man rides up beside you and throws you a smile. O.K. now you have to ride tomorrow in case hes there again and sure enough he is. He is good looking so you buy new make-up and buy really nice jogging suits. Now your talking as you ride and he seems interested and next thing you know your buying thongs. Those aren't comfortable for ridding but you wear them anyway and soon they get comfortable. Please don't let your thong show when you ride though. Then you have to get a tatoo on the small of your back to show off when your jogging jacket rides up your back and one of those dorkey ridding hats that look like they were squeezed out out of a cake decorater tube.. Next thing you know you are slim and you have a ridding buddy and one day boom! your in the E.R. with a banged up head, sore knee and scratches but the good thing is with the thong you don't have to fight with panties to pull down to get the pain shot which makes you feel really good by the way. You are looking soo good the Doc. winks a little when he askes if you work out as he gives you the shot.  You smile a sneaky little come and get me smile. The whole accident was worth that shot. O.K. now you have torn something in your knee and you have to have micro-surgery and knees never heal right anyway so you can't ride any more and next thing you know you have gotten all outta shape and now you wonder if it was all worth it.  Do you really want to go through all this just so you can ride a bike? Hey I am here to help any way I can. Hugs, Mary

    Hi, girls

Yep, all is well, the storm (as usual) moved east and we got a whopping .4 inches of rain. But, boy, I feel bad for all those folks who will be without power for weeks on end. And Mary, I hear Ike is on his way toward you (or maybe already got there).

Speaking of bikes (I'd show you a pic of mine if I could master the technology), Nathan and I went for a short ride today. That's the kind we do best. Just enough to get out there and look committed to fitness without all the work.

Gotta go get a mammo and dexa scan this week, and off to the onc for my 6-month checkup next week. Also, need to at some point go buy a new boob... Either my real one is getting fatter or someone let the air out of my fake one. ;) Anyway, getting pretty noticeable.

     Take care, girls.

    Hey ladies,

Just returned from TN.  Saw my old high school play football Friday night and then went to the UT game Saturday.  Gas prices ranged from 3.79 to over 5.00 along the way on the trip.  It was 92 degrees in Knoxville at the UT game.  Mary, hope you don't get too much from Ike.  Paula, glad you are ok.  Think of you every time they mention TX on the tube.  A new boob!!!!  What a drag.  Looks like all the crap could be overr at some point in this journey.  My arm is swollen after my trip.  Will have to do the regimen to get it back down.  I can pretty much handle it myself now.

Hey Girls, glad all is fine and you are not blown away P.J. Good  for you for getting out and ridding. You go girl. We got about 5 inches of rain in a short time so we got a lot of flooding and cars stranded but all is good except it is damp and cold. Good luck on your apt. we will be thinking of you and sending all clear vibes. I don't even have a dig. camera yet, how unelectronical is that? Gas is $4.19 here. Glad you had a good trip Janie, sorry to hear about your arm. Driving is my worse enemy for my arm pain and numbness(from shoulder). I try to keep it down and relaxed but it don't help a lot. Hope you get it under controll pretty quick. Hows it going Nancy Lee? Glad you girls are all o.k. Gotta go. Later gators, Mary

    Hey girls,

:PJ, knocked off any of those appointments yet?  How close are you to the areas that were so heavily damaged?

Mary, can you tread water?  I do not have a digital camera either.  It is just not at the top of my list of things to purchase.

Our superintendent "resigned" yesterday and they appointed an interim for one year.  He used to be the principal at my high school before moving to the BOE as an assistant super.  He's a good guy.  Maybe things will look up for the system.

PJ, let us know how go.

Janie, we have come along way. Some times I think wow, we are almost at 5 years and still cancer free as far as we know (as far as we know; a hang up I have from my moms cancer death) and I wonder sometimes if time is our friend or not; just something that passes through my mind. I always say time flies when you are trying to live. We are all strong and a little tattered, o.k. shot to hell but we are nice people. Sometimes I think how hard it must be for those that don't have a support team like ours. Finding you girls has been my strength through it all and beyond. Thanks, in case I don't say it enough. We are heading out Fri. a.m. to a festival about 2 or more hours away. We will be back late Sun. I have been feverishly beading my little girls stuff. The Dr. told hubby he needs other shoulder operated on soon because he has rips in his rotater and he should not wait long. Hubby said he will think on it because we wants to leave in Nov. and he would have to have 4 to 6 months of P.T. It takes 4 or 5 months to get in for surgery from this Dr. We don't go back unless we decide to go ahead with the surgery.  Toolman told me I talk too much today....I still haven't spoken to him. He said he was sorry but how can you be, if I talk too much then I do and I just won't talk to him except to answer him and I can do that, (for a while). Maybe I cook too much too, and do his laundry too much too. Boy, he opened a can of worms as the saying goes. I better get. I have been watching the country music peoples choice awrds. Later and hugs, Mary

    Hi Mary,

Did anybody on the country music awards show sing "You Talk Too Much"?  That would have been too funny.  You guys stay safe and enjoy your trip.

Yes, I would have really had a totally different experience if you all had not been a message or a phone call away.

They say the 5 year mark is a biggie.  We are almost there!

It appears that we are not the only ones shot to hell. Toolman is falling apart too.  I wish him the best in his medical endeavors, and of course you too, in yours.

    Have fun this weekend.

Hi Girls, hows everyone? Any test results yet P.J? We did really well this past wk. end. We are off again Fri.to a good size event so I hope we do real good there too. My daughter sent us tickets to fly out the 8th. to the 21st. of Oct so we are pretty excited about that. I am so ready for Az. We can look for a good camper place and get some R an R. It will be so good to see her, it has been a while. Well just wanted to see if  Paula had any test done yet and gotten the all clear. Well it is just Tue. but I am thinking its like Thurs. for some reason. Sorry Paula, I am a little screwed up. I think it is all the on the road stuff. I sometimes wonder where I am. Its all over in a 2 more wks.(the on the road) Well, I have to scadaddle. Is that hows it is spelled? It looks good so I will go with that. Later and big hugs, Mare
