AC vs ACT

Okay ladies, just talked to my oncologist and he gave me an option that I 'm not sure what to do.  He said I could do AC x4 of which I will do my last treatment on Friday and start Herceptin, tamoxifin and radiation, or I can do Taxol, then radiation followed by herceptin and tamox.  He said I am on the line for needing Taxol and it is up to me how aggressive I should be.  Any experiences would help!

If it were me I'd do the Taxol.  It's not as nasty as the AC and has been proven to increase survival.  It's also not cardio-toxic like that Adriamycin.  The worst SE I had was mild neuropathy and my feet hurt when I first got out of bed.  That has since all gone away.  My Onc had me take B6 to help protect my nerves from permanent damage.  Of course, this is a personal decision and we'll support you no matter what you decide.

My best understanding is that you could (and should) do the taxol concurrent with the Herceptin.

    More bang for the buck.

Yes, I agree with TammyLou.  I had the Taxol concurrent with Herceptin and have read that it is a very effective combination.  They seem to work synergisticly off of each other.
