arimadex + high blood pressure

I have been on arimidex for 4 months now.  My blood pressure is normally in the 125/78 ish range.

I'M SUDDENLY IN THE 160/93 ISH RANGE.  Anybody else have this problem?

    Yes Carol, I did.  Now bear in mind I had some bp issues before all this but with arimidex......my bp went to 210 over 100 and something.  I felt pressure in my sinuses like an infection and went to my GP, she nearly stroked out.  Luckily I didn't.  Am now on a diuretic and an ace inhibitor and they are working fine.  More pills though.  BLAH.

    Mine was high too, when I started taking zolodex shots to shut down my hormones, 2yrs ago at dx. It took me around 9mths to get it under control with an ACE inhibotor and diuretic, as my internist, didn't take it seriously and said it was the "stress of the cancer." The PA was actually the one that upped my dose of ACE and started the diuretic.

     I have read that lack of hormones causes some menopausal women to develope HBP. - Just another thing we have to deal with, without our lovely hormones.

    Hi Carrol,

    My BP was elevated for awhile on Arimidex, too.  After a couple years, though it stablized and went back down.
