Wendy...so sorry you are going thru the problems...and I can't be of any help.
I was reading thru some past posts and I noticed that Nessie suggested keeping it simply and not grilling...since I said I would bring hot dogs/brats...maybe I shouldn't? I could definitely bring something else. What do you think? -
From what I've read, I got the impression that for her, she didn't want to grill. I think whatever each person wants to bring is OK. I'm going to figure something else other than potato salad. It took me 6 hours to make the huge bowl I made for our car club at the Dream Cruise on Sat. I just can't make it again. I was going to bring my little propane grill to help w/cooking if you needed it. Just let me know.
Thanks for the support. I have been milking the tube all night and have gotten some fluid out but can't seem to dislodge the clot. The tube totally fills w/fluid but it won't go anywhere by itself. I've be watching it very closely and trying to keep it clear. I'll see what the nurse says this AM.
Thanks again and I look forwrd to seeing you Sunday.

Sorry if I gave the impression that I didn't want to grill......................Most of you know me well enough to know I go along with anything! It just sounded like a lot on you to bring all of the 'grilling equipment' plus the meat...........that's when I mentioned 'keeping it simple'!! Don't change your mind because I said that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Heck, I still don't know what I'm bringing..........
Wendy.......good luck with the drain.....it probably needs flushed to get the clot out, I, like you, would have been tempted to go after it with a syringe.............but best that you didn't! Hope the nurse has your answers and you start feeling better!

JanDun - Welcome to the MI site. Glad you are joining us at the picnic.
LorieAnne - Sorry to hear you are having health issues. Hope you will make our next get together.
Judy from Plymouth - How is your daughter doing? I know last you were here she was having a rough time.
Nancy - Since we are having smores and brownies think I will save the oreo dessert for another time and just bring the pasta salad and ice tea/cups.
Chris - Did you hear they closed the Port Huron lighthouse? sad
Do we bring our own chairs?
Is someone bringing plastic silverware?
Travel safe and see everyone on Sunday. My DD may stop by for a few minutes since she lives not to far and I have some papers to give her.
Hugs

Nessie, did you decide to bring baked beans? If you didn't, I thought I would bring them. But I didn't want to if you had decided to bring them. I can always think of something else. Also, do you know how many are coming? I want to make sure I have enough nametags.
Good news, the drain seems to be back to normal! It has been putting out close to what it had on Monday. Clot is still there but liquid seems to be getting around it so that is good. I'm feelling better too. Looking forward to Sunday.

Susieloutoo - Neesie and I will help you with your training. I'm sure we can fill you up with lots of carbs for the walk. teehee
Faith - Wish you were closer to join us. We would love hanging out with you again.
Wendy - Glad your doing better and the drain is cooperating.
Iris - From NC..... We can't have a picnic without BEARS!

Looking forward to seeing everyone. I hope the weather holds - as of this morning it's supposed to be beautiful.
I have plates, bowls, plasticware, cups and napkins. Am I forgetting anything?
Irene

Hi Nessie, Wendy again. I had gone back over the last few pages to get an idea of how many were coming and someone made mention of "your famous baked beans". I had no idea your beans were famous. By all means, I don't want to bring mine and have everyone wishing they were yours. Please bring them. I love to taste everyones recipies. We were at the Dream Cruise Sat and one of the car club members brought his 'famous' beans. My DH really loved them so I asked if he would give me the recipe. He just laughed!
I've got a couple of other ideas for me so don't worry. I dislodged the clot this AM so the drain is really moving now and I'm feeling LOTS better. Coleslaw would be really easy or macaroni salad. I'll figure it out tonight. I'm getting so excited. Decided to leave DH at home; he would be a fish out of water and he can go to a car show instead.
Wendy
-
Hey Girls........looking forward to seeing all this Sunday!
Wings...laughing at the fact that We're going to help Susielou train..............Carbs...I was thinking the same thing!
Wendy....Glad to hear the drain is back in action! Actually, the "famous" bean recipe is kinda a joke! I do kinda add alot of stuff to them, but my Family ALWAYS puts me in charge of the Beans and I think I ended up making them like 3 times in a row for functions...........I was complaining (who me?) about it that I thought that was all my family thought I could make...............hence; the Famous Beans came into play!!
Really........if everyone just brings a little of something we will have plenty of food/variety....trust me.......we do like to eat!!
Here are my two options.................can we have a vote.....Baked Beans or A 'Carmel Apple' Salad....................whichever is fine with me.............Will check back in a bit!
Hugs to all,
Neesie
-
Hmm, 'carmel apple salad', that sounds really good too. Having not had either one puts me at a disadvantage. However, the salad sounds really interesting so I guess I'll vote for that.
I'm putting together a list of everyone who has responded so far and what they are bringing. I'm not quite done but will post ASAP. That way, if someone hasn't decided on what to bring, at least they will know what is coming and can make a decision.
Wendy

I haven't decided what to bring yet
I'll try to get there early and snag a few picnic tables. In that area there are a lot of tables and several grills. I'll see what I can nab for us
-
Okay.............I've decided to go easy and make the Carmel Apple Salad! I have never made it, but my Mom did and it was tasty....................you all can be my Guinea Pigs!
Neesie
-
I will bring a veggie pizza or something like that.
-
Are any DHs coming? Mine wanted to know.
-
My DH had asked but since I hadn't heard about anyone else's coming, he decided to do something else. Said he would feel like a fish out of water with all women. Nessie had made a comment earlier that it is usually just the sisters but had he would be welcome if he wanted to come, so it's up to him, and you of course. See you Sunday.

Hi All:
I'm still a little up in the air about coming due to some prior plans - BUT, I think I will be able to make it. As for what to bring . . . since it still is a little unsure, I think I will bring some dessert that doesn't need refrigeration or such. If anyone has any other ideas besides that, let me know.
See you Sunday (hopefully)!!

I''m so excited! This is what the group for Sunday looks like so far:
Irene SEI all eating utinsels, cups, napkins, plates, bowls
Bonnie Winggirl2 pasta salad, ice tea/cups
Susie susieloutoo
Denise Nessie carmel apple salad
Wendy Sunkistmi baked beans, brownies, 10x10 canopy
Chris Not-Me hot dogs/brats, buns, ketsup, mustard, onions
Judy rockysmom chips, dip, corn chips, salsa
Sue ICanDoThis tortellini salad, italian dressing & pickled vegis
Linda Linda1 smores
Nancy Sphynx fruit salad, whipped cream
Jan JanDun1 vegi pizza
Pat pconn03
Toni kinde5069
Laura Caseysmom
I went back on past pages and these are all the sisters that had indicated, at least at one time or another, that they were coming. Please forgive me if I have missed someone. I am making 'special' nametags, just because I needed something crafty to do. Hope I'm not stepping on anyones toes. There was also someone else that had either a canopy or tent they were going to bring. My understanding was that if we wanted to sit on something other than the picnic table, to bring our own chairs. I'll try to continue to update the list as the posts come in.

Going to try to post the sign I made that I will put at the street to direct us to the right spot
-
well shoot- don't know how to make it smaller
here's one for you lighthouse lovers- the lighthouse at Grand Haven, MI
-
ANYONE WEARING THEIR BOPPERS ??
-
ok, put me down for chips, dip, corn chips, salsa
-
Love the sign Judy! I'll wear my bopper if you do.
No Wendy, you cannot step on anyone's toes since we work best as a Team and everyone is jumping in and helping out. You will see what a great group we have! This is our first picnic but I can see this is going to be a blast. You guys have everything covered.
Not-Me - my DH is not coming but your's always seems comfortable with us "girls". He should join us. Winggirl2, is Mr. Wings coming? Are they worried about being the only guys? Too bad Kats and Mr. Kats live so far. Faith and Mr. F, where are you, on vacation? I could talk mine into joining us but I think he is relieved to stay home.
I vote for caramel apple salad Neesie. The snacks sound good Judy. I don't think we are forgetting anything, are we? This is going to be a feast. Pat - hope to see you and don't forget the grandbaby pics! Irene, bringing your camera? I'll bring mine if I can stay out of the pics. Susie, you do have to rest up for the race and re-fuel. Nessie and Wings got that right - you need the carbs. We may need to walk a bit with you to walk offf some of this food.
Do we need direction listed again? It still looks like a good weather forcast. See ya soon! I'm looking forward to meeting the newbies and catching up with the oldies!
