Oh boy, I didn't miss it after all! I'm back from vacation and checked the get together board to see how it went, and I see that it didn't happen. August works for me, except for Labor Day weekend. Hope to see everyone.Catherine aka Carolina
-
Whoo boy, I'm interested now that you've moved it to August. July was my surgery month but I'm back at work (in Manhattan), and anything in the area this month is doable for me. What's the latest?
-
Hey from Massachusetts... I may be in NY one weekend this month (my family lives in the area) so if it coincides with this get-together, mind if I stop by and say hello?
Lauren
-
LorenaB, it would be wonderful to see you!
Do we have a date?
-
What about august 23rd or 24th???
-
That sounds good to me.
-
My last chemo is the 22nd...I'd have to pass as that's when I usually have my worst s/e's.
-
I can do the 23rd, but not the 24th--
So hard to get a date everyone can do!!
I guess the best thing to do is pick a date most of us can make, and then, for those of us who cannot make it, what a wonderful reason to do it again in Sept or October!!!
he he he--I am sure we will not run out of things to talk about and laughter and a great time, even if we made it a standard every month deal!
-
I can't do August 23rd or the 24th., I will be cruising the Mediterian. I am so excited!! Have fun at the get together and I will catch up with all of you in Sept or Oct. when we meet again.
Oh, more exciting news! I made an appointment with a ps to discuss my options on reconstruction, its mid Sept. * Thanks Ann for his name and number.
Take care
-
I can't do Aug 23 (taking my daughter back to colllege) but the 24th should work.
-
Is there a get together this weekend? If so, I'd try to make it, at least for a bit. Otherwise, count me in for September!
(Got plans w/ friends to see Hedwig tonight, Moonstruck in Central Park on Saturday eve and Patti Smith free concert -- a few songs outdoors at LC-- on Sunday. If anyone is going to any of these, PM me. I'd love to at least put faces to usernames.)
-
OK everyone - what's the game plan? We're getting into September already!
-
OKAY GIRLS... we totally missed the boat for the summer. But Summer in the city is always pretty hot and gross.
What's everyody's situation for columbus day weekend... (October 11 IS MY b-day) but I'm open for an october get together.
10-19 is the making strides walk in Jones Beach-- any takers going to walk with me? My team has sweatshirts, and a tent on the grass, and breakfast... how's that for a good bribe?
-
I'm meeting with two other bc.org members 10/19. Planning to hang around the city, possibly the Village (they're from out of town). Don't mean to split the group but there's another possibility for anyone who wants to stay in Manhattan.
-
Beth I'd love to join you at Jones Beach Beth (it's where I met my husband over 23 years ago!) but I'll be walking in Manhattanville College in Westchester for Making Strides on the 19th....wonder if anyone here will be going? If you are- let me know - I'll pm you with info on how to find me!
-
Hi Beth:
I'll be at Jones Beach walking with a few other survivors! I'll try to look for you ....so many participate....sometimes hard to find others. This is a walk I try to do every year with the exception of last year...I was still only a few months out and didn't feel up to it.
But this year is quite a different story....hope to see you there!

The Woodbury "Making Strides" is also on 10/19. Desny & Peg - are you going?
-
Looks like maybe November would be better?
-
So glad I found this thread! I'm new here, but would just love to meet everyone. I live on Long Island, love hopping into the city whenever I get the chance, so if a plan happens? I'm in too!
xoxo

Hi Felicia,
Good to hear from you. Hope all is well! Sorry I can't make the Woodbury "Making Strides" on 10/19 - birthday parties for grandkids.
If something forms for late November for a get together I would try to come. I am scheduled to
have surgery for expander placement on Nov. 6th. I'm happy but also scared! Miss you all. Keep
me posted on any dates to meet.

HI Shirley!
Hope you are well, and I know your reconstruction will go just fine!
I met with a couple ladies from the board in my area here in CT this week for lunch, and we had a "foob show and tell" in the bathroom of the restaurant--it was a riot--we all have some hot looking boobs!!
I am sure yours will be just the same!!
he he he--we put the garbage can against the door so no one could come in to share the look!!!!
Hope to see you at the get-together soon!! Hope to see all of you!!
-
Oh Jane, thanks for all your support. I just started a Nov. thread on the Reconstrution thread.
I think that is very funny about having a "foob show and tell" at the restrauant. I tryly wish I had
ladies around here to meet and relate to. And someday I will have a "foob" to show off, haha!!!
Thank god for this site and the people on it!!! I hope I can catch up with you and the other ladies
at a get together soon.
Shirley
