Brain, Liver, Lungs, Bone and NOW Skin Mets!
Did I mention that it's everywhere? The last chemo I did made me so sick I had to stop. I have headaches constantly. I can only imagine what the doctor is going to tell me today. Breast Cancer is a heartless coward. I was planning a vacation getaway this weekend with my Mom and my brother. Now it seems that I'll be planning hospice home visits. A month ago an intern told me that I'd me on hospice within 6 months. I didn't want to accept it but with all the progresion lately, I'm beginning to be open to the idea. I've been around the boards long enought to know that the news I've gotten lately can't be good. I don't take hospice losing. Death is not defeat. All I can do now is pray for the forgiveness of my sins and wait for the Lord. I'm afraid but, the Lord is my Shepherd. The friends that I've made along the way who've gone before me have given me courage to hold on (Lisa, Maria, Myra, and June). God is able, stephanie

{{{{Stephanie}}}} Two things I noticed in reading your posts. One is that you are in a bad spot with the adddional mets, but Two, that you are in a good spot with your beliefs in the Lord and his plan for you! Somehow I feel torn between feeling so very sorry you are having to deal with yet more, but then I'm gladdened that you have such peace in your soul! I envy you that last part, more than you can begin to imagine. I only hope that when my time comes I'll be as faithful as you!
That said, I am so sorry that this has come to you! Any of it! But isn't there anyway to continue with your plans for this weekend? Some way to tx while you are gone? You need this as do your family to enjoy one another and spend that time that is obviously going to be gone so very too soon.
I hope you can find a way to get away with them. I'm keeping you in thoughts and prayers that you continue to have comfort in the Lord's plan. Bless you dear lady, stephanie...

Stephanie, I hope you get to take some vacations AND find treatments that will control some of these things. I am praying that you continue to be replenished with the strength and grace that is yours.
Love,
Ann

Stephanie, I'm so sorry to read this. You asked once about an heirloom that you could leave your children and I know you were thinking of something of a material nature. I guess you didn't realize that the heirloom you are leaving for your children is your amazing faith. That's a legacy that is priceless.

Your attitude, even with the anger and frustration is simply amazing. You are a brave woman. If I were in your shoes, I'd be in a fetal position but you are looking this disease square in the eye and telling it to go to h*ll! BC is a "heartless coward". I hope the doctors tell you they've found another treatment option, but whatever they tell you, you seem like you can handle it. I truly envy your faith Stephanie, it's just too dogone bad that it has to be tested in such a manner. Perhaps you can still do the weekend getaway? Or at least do something fun. I'm so sorry you're having to deal with this.

God is able! The doctor says that the protrution from my chest is not related to breast cancer. The bone scan came back clean! The liver is stable! The lungs are stable and the raised bumps around my incision he doesn't seem concerned about (not a rash)! I'm going back on Xeloda and will take immodium to address the problems I encountered. I asked my doctor why they transcribed it as "clavicle protrution nodule" and he says he wasn't sure but that the bone scan was clean! Truly, God is able! I feel encouraged again. Sorry for the drama post this morning. I was sure I was going to have to stop chemo. I need to practice what I preach. I've learned that having faith is a journey not a desintation. Thanks for your positive vibes and prayers! God is able, stephanie
