Presidential VP idea, what do y'all think?

I know this will probably sound insane, but what do y'all think of McCain choosing Hillary as his running mate? I am a registered republican but I guess I'd call myself fiscally conservative and socially liberal. I don't think McCain is that concerned about keeping the far right and I truly believe there are far more people who run down the middle than right or left. With Hillary, he could sort of let her handle the more liberal social issues that a lot of people vote over, which would be a bonus for people like me.

I know they say they're friends and she respects him, blah blah blah, but maybe something this "crazy" is what this country needs to Unite!
It'd also almost guarantee Hillary a real shot at the white house in 4 years b/c let's face it, McCain's no spring chicken.

If anyone has thoughts I'd be interested!

My son and I agreed that the winner of the election should have his opponent as his VP. That would really make an interest combination.

MCain would win with Hillary, but it wouldn't make me vote for the ticket and it would destroy her reputation in the democratic party as would McCain with the republicans. The only way it would work is if McCain died before the election and the general election was Hillary vs. Obama (not that I'm hoping that will happen).

I don't know about a McCain-Clinton ticket, but here's an even odder one to contemplate: In an interview with an African American publication, Condi Rice was asked if she would consider being Obama's VP! She reminded the interviewer that she was a Republican, and said she's not interested in the job either way, but she didn't laugh in his face at the suggestion. She actually said the country would be "fine" in Obama's hands as far as foreign policy went.
