Oh, Shirl, you must have emailed the link at the end. Maybe I'll send you an invite from the yahoo group. You want teamsurvivorsd@yahoo.com
I'll see what I can do.
Brenda, do you have any hard copy photos from Pinkstock? Will you any of your souvenirs have arrived by then? It would be cool to see some.
The 24th, SUNDAY, at 1pm at the Cal Pizza Kitchen sounds good to me.
Hope you don't have any emergencies, Susan. And, hey - You are at that wonderful stage where we all love to see your hair growth each time we meet!

Lisa...don't forget the photo..have fun everyone

I will be getting my hard copies of pic tomorrow. Souvenirs have not arrived yet. Maybe next week.

Hi, girls. I'm on vacation--will be getting back to San Diego today. I'm just skimming the thread on the hotel computer--did I catch it right that lunch will be Sunday, August 24, 1pm, at the CPK on Carmel Mountain Rd? If so, I think I'll be able to make it then.
-
Hi all,
Sorry I have not been posting lately---Lisa, looked at the Dragon boat link and that looks like alot of fun--thanks for sharing! Glad to hear you had fun in NY Brenda---that is a wonderful place to be in the summer time--love the Finger Lakes region of the state.
Anyway-seems like I have had alot on my plate lately with work and family obligations. Had to make a trip to Denver to make arrangements for my Aunt and Uncle..he is 93 and she will be 89 in Oct (My Aunt Sylvia--born on her B-Day---so I was named for her). No children and there are 4 nieces and two nephews. Of course the nephews BELIEVE what their Uncle tells them---THAT everything is fine and the nieces (I'm the most senior one!!) understand and know better!! They desperately need to move or have in home care---so was able to pull together some stop gap measures that will work short term.
Making the rounds on Drs appts again---the anuerysm that was found in the artery going to my spleen (incidental finding on my most recent bone density-which was bad) just needs to be watched--- Vascular surgeon says it is TOO close to the spleen to fix-- so if it grows--I will have to have my spleen removed.... I'm trying not to hear that huge ticking noise coming from my left side.
I'm having a B-Day get together for my oldest daughter that weekend(aug 24th) so will have to miss this months lunch---Sept is looking crazy already --I have finally gotten approval for lymphodema therapy and will be starting that---in addition to needing some dental work---
so on it goes---trying to keep my head and spirits above water...
Take care all,
Sylvia

Sylvia-Hi there. Sorry you are having to go through the family issues. I hope things are getting better. We will really miss you.
Nash-Hope to see you there. Do you want to ride together?
I ran into Jodi at Game Stop yesterday. She has a lot going on right now and probably won't be at our lunch next week. She will be getting keys to her new place that day too. Zoe looks cute as ever. Sitting up in the stroller now she is getting so big. Jodi wanted me to say hi to you all and give you big hugs when I see you.
-
Brenda--I'll probably drive by myself b/c I will be at church until noon, then have to come home and get the kids changed and their lunch going, etc., before I leave, so it's hard to commit to a departure time. The next time lunch is on a Saturday it's easier for me to carpool, so we can plan it then.
It's the CPK in Carmel Mountain, right?
-
Nash-Okay. I will be leaving from church but I am going to send the kids home with dh. Yes, it is the CPK in Carmel Mountain.
-
Hi gals, wouldn't you know it, my grandaughter gets home from Hawaii on the 24th at 11:33am. We have to pick her up because her dad will be in England on business. He leaves the 23rd. (He is the son who lost his wife to Pancreatic CA two years ago, so no one else can get her). But I am coming, anyway, I will maybe be a little late. But the traffic should be good. Don't wait for me, I am a very fast eater. I can catch up. Unless she is late, I should be there with you all on time.
Hugs, Shirlann
-
Shirlann - bring her with you - if she is anything like you, she'll be very entertaining!
-
Well, I can't come. My grandaughter just called, her flight has been changed to 1:10pm arrival. Darn it! It was so sweet, guitarGrl, to ask her to come. She would have loved it. Anyway, be sure and take a picture. I am heartbroken. This is the one who lost her mom to Panreatic CA 2 years ago, this is the first time she has been away from home, so I need to be there. Shucks, Shirlann
-
Ahh! Shirlann. See you next month.
So I guess it be just 4 of us for Sunday. See you all there.
-
tell me again what street that cpk is on?
-
Susan-Off 15 go east on Carmel Mountain Road. It is on the left side of the street right next to Chevy's. I forget the cross street but it is the first intersection off the freeway. Go left there and then right into the shopping center. See you tomorrow.
-
Hi y'all! I haven't forgotten! Nash, I can't wait to hear all about your new start-up non-profit skating project. Sorry you can't make it, Shirl. Anyone else is still welcome! An intimate group like this month's is a great opportunity to really chat and get acquainted.
Lisa
-
Looking forward to seeing all you girls!
-
Who is bringing the camera? SoCal will have our heads if we forget. Mine doesn't take very good pictures but I will try to remember it.
-
I can't find my charger - if I can - I'll take the pictures.
-
It was a wonderful, intimate chat with just the four of us today. We could actually complete sentences and hear each other across the table.
I do love it when we have a large turnout, but this sort of gathering had its charms, too. SoCal, Brenda was diligent about bringing her camera, but I'm not so sure about the competence of our ditzy waitress. We may have to wait for some photoshop skills to be called in.
Hugs to all
Lisa
-
Okay I am no SoCal so you had to wait hours for this picture. It was the only one that turned out. If anyone wants to photoshop it be my guest. It was a really nice time and I ditto what Lisa said. Can't wait to see the rest of you next month. Get out the calendars.

Let's see what this looks like:
Capturing it off a web post is not exactly the most efficient, but it's good for a bit of editing. . .
-
Oh, you all look so good! I see Guitar Girl has hair! WHOPPEEE, and all of you look healthy!
I will be there next year, I am going to stop putting my phone number out to the family. haha
Hugs, Shirl
-
Next year Shirlann? I hope you can make it before then LOL.
-
Oh Brenda, stupid here again, NEXT MONTH! Cripes, keep me honest, honey!
Hugs, Shirl
-
the picture was saved at too low a resolution for me to do anything with - sorry. We did have a really nice time in such a small group, but we did miss the rest of you.

I am so sorry I missed the lunch. I guess I've gotten lazy and was relying on SoCal to send an email reminder.... Guess I'll have to take responsibility and start checking in ;-) I miss you all! And now it's football season (pop warner) so I won't be able to make most Saturdays for a couple of months.
Otherwise, I'm doing well. I met with a PS here in town and he's referring me to Dr. Allen in Charleston, S. Carolina for the DIEP. I'm still in the investigational stage, but right now am looking to have it done in February next year. Who are the good DIEP doctors at UCLA??? Lisa?? Dr. Allen's webpage has a link to a Dr. Granzow, but if any of you know anything, please share.
Hope to catch up with everyone next month.

I read in the paper yesterday that the lady who owned The Pink Ribbon store in Carlsbad has passed away. She died of Luekemia after having had bc. How sad.
-
Gosh, that is sad. May she rest in peace.
-
-
Thank you Sylvia. I wondered if the chemo gave her the Leukemia. I pray the Lord spares those of us who have had the same treatment.
