Lol faith, Yes its now me with the tele tubbies. They were a part of the Flaming Lips show.

Sis, It was a three day 120+ shows/concerts. Lots of new (Cold Play, Nine inch nails, Jay Z) and then good old fossil rock (Tom Petty, The Trajically Hip and so on)  here is a quick link to the lineup. It really was quite the production and I was pleased to be involved in the first time Pemberton put this event on. This was the largest outdoor rock concert venue in Canada.

Deb - I'd be happy to join you and our angel friends for a nice cold lemonade.

Your issue with the disability income and insurance is crazy. So, because you make too much being disabled, you lose all or part of your coverage?  And because you didn't spend enough on medical costs that counts against you, too?  Hmmmm.

Have you looked at this site under resources to see if there's anyone that might help you out? I know there are organizations that help with medical stuff and insurance issues.  Good luck with all of this. I'll send lots of positive energy your way to give you the strength to do what you need to do. ((((HUGS))))

Suz- Wow, how exciting to be part of such a huge undertaking. I'll check out the link.

Have a great Monday all. I'm off to physical therapy, to get my port flushed, to go to the post office, to Staples, the grocery store, and a massage. My sciatica is really acting up, so between PT and a massage, I'm hoping that it resolves. It is a pain in the arse and lower back.

Oh, puppy. So happy to see such a cheery post from you. Norm's a lucky guy to have you on his team. Please continue to take good care of yourself.

Norm, you'll be pleased to know that I'm about to shift gears. We're heading north tomorrow to northern WI on the big lake. We'll be there for a month of relaxation, reading, riding: bikes and motorcycles, art galleries, restaurants and all sorts of lovely 'down-time'

Will have internet, so will talk to you all when we get situated.

    Quiet, it's very quiet!!

Just wanting Joy to know that I continue to pray for your upcoming trial, your stamina, and your spirit in the midst of all of that confrontational negativity. Ya gotta do what ya gotta do. It is what it is...... and all of the other bumper stickers. Prayers for wellness in the midst of it all.

Puppy, wondering how you're holding up? How's your recovery? I'm sure it's slower than you'd like, but trust how grateful we are to see the occaisional post with your avatar. Sending you some strength, too.

KimberSIS and Suzy: bet you're both up to August-time fun!

Footie: know that I always pray for you in the midst of your various struggles. Keep your positive outlook as best possible. Have a temper tantrum every now and again and then go about your business-as-usual, sweet lemonade approach.

Norm: we got out the motorcycle for my first ride of the season yesterday and I thought of you. We're now far enough north to be surrounded by pine trees, water, crystal clear skies and incredible back country roads. Perfect for roaring around and going no where in particular. Sending you TONS of hugs as the season continues. One day at a time, dear friend. One day at a time. Know how much I treaure that you are keeping on in the face of such loss.

to any readers here at Norm's: may you have a blessed weekend and find comfort in his example...

Faith- WhooHoo on rest, relaxation, and revitalization!!!!  Enjoy...you've been a non-stop goer since I first encountered you here (with that little 'cation in Aruba as a nice break) with the babies, new business ventures, and workshops.  Enjoy the quiet of the lake and the pines.

Suz - I'm glad you're doing well. All recooped from the big Rock event and on to the next big gig, eh?

Joy - I'm sending lots of positive vibes your way. I have no doubts that all will work out in your favor...it's just such a mess to get to what should have happened in the first place between you and your business partner.  In the midst of it all, remember that everything is as it should be at this moment...a moment in which we have an opportunity to learn and grow...as painful as it might be at times.

Deb - Oh, I am so glad you called a cancer help line. I'm certain that you'll be getting what you need with the help of your new advocate.

Puppy - What an energetic message.  I am so thrilled to have you back.

Norm - So, how's life going since you last posted?

I'm starting school in just a little over a week. I've been busy getting stuff ready.

    Take care all,

It is almost 1am and I haven't been able to go to sleep, so I'm up getting caught up.

Suz- I teach 7th and 8th grade. This year I have three Language Arts classes (reading and writing) and two Study Skills classes (elective).  I am thrilled to be getting back into the swing of things.

I love your positive outlook about your tests as so many people seem to dread them or complain about having to do them.

Well kids, it looks as if everyone is living life this past few days. Isn't that a wonderful testimony to the power of connection.  Even though we may not need eachother's words everyday, we are still so much in one anothers thoughts and in one another's hearts.

To each of you...walk in peace knowing that everything is as it should be at each moment in time. Take time to appreciate each moment even if it isn't what you'd hoped it would be...remember that in judging our moments as good or bad we often miss what those moments have to offer.  Take a deep breath and accept each moment as it is for what it is.

Thinking of you all my Angel Watchers.

Sorry gang, I've been entertaining a special gal from my January Jewels thread. She drove down from Washington State on Thursday, and we've been having a great time. Her dh joined us yesterday, and they left this morning around 11 or so. It was so wonderful to meet her as she's been such a big part of my support group.

So, we've got a new baby!!!! WhooHoo. Welcome little Dez-Lynn and congrats grandpa.

Faith, hope you are enjoying your vacation. I have three more days left and those days are being packed with things that need to be done including getting my classroom together.

Deb - Don't leave any stone unturned as far as getting that le suit. It seems that an appeal might get Medicare to cover it especially with your doc's write up about your need for one. Lemonade, hugs, and...how about some cold grapes, spreadable cheese, and crackers? We deserve a little nosh after such a long active day.

So, we picked our first harvest of grapes on Friday. We've got enough juice for 1 gallon of wine. We'll be making a blend of petite syrah and merlot (the t is silent). I like the name Merlotah (sounds like aloha, doesn't it?). We should know if we've got a good wine in about 18 months.

Hope all our angels are doing well,

NORM!! I'm always so thrilled to see that you've left us a message. Rain for a week would be a bit much, wouldn't it? We're needing some here -- so send it on over.

My husband would enjoy fishing with you. He went out on a charter a couple of weeks ago and caught over 60 pounds of salmon. We'll be eating it till Christmas!

The weather up here is gorgous. Just got home from a concert on the shore -- in a gazebo. Young singer-song-writer-folkie type. What a lazy afternoon, to nap in and out of his tunes.

Hugs all around the thread. KimberSIS: I can hear the kids lining up outside your door.

Joy: check in just as soon as you are able and let us know how everything turned out.

Puppy: sending you recooperative strength and joy. Take care on the road 'back'.

Footie: hugs to you, till the heat fades and the weather is a bit more tolerable.

Suz: what adventures are you up to these days? Motorcycle?

    hey all,

Sorry to be gone so long.  Crazy two weeks.  I had been dreading seeing how it would all work out, but so far things have gone fairly smoothly.

Week ago Sun. DH and I went to Knoxville to get settled in for trial.  Met with Att. on Mon. trail began Tues. AM.  First jury selection, then I was on the stand for most of the afternon.DH was last hour.  That night I had a terrible pain in my goin, (think it may be beginning of blood clot as I had sat in that hard chair all day).  Anyway I could barely walk, thought of ER

.  By next AM, much better but still had to use wheel chair to get into courthouse, long walk.  By afternoon was mostly gone.

Onto the trial.  Called a mistrial by judge afternoon of second day. They did not have all of the recordst they had been asked to produce.  Looks like it will be next year before we go again. However,  in the judge's  remarks declaring the mistrial, he really read them the riot act. There are eight of them in all and and they all owe us $$.(lots of money)   One remark was "Mr. and Mrs. R, you owe the money, pay the money, you're lucky their lawyer has not yet asked for interest"..  Another remark, Mr. E. you failed in your duties as a member of the board of directors.  If you knew people were leaving, it was your duty and responsibility to notify the owners (DH and I).  He was asking for a bonus of $76,000, for performing his duties in 4th qtr. while at the same time he was plotting his takeover.  So, althought it was far from being setttled, we left feeling pretty good as well as our atty.  Now we will get if off our minds for a while.

So, we had to go to lawyers office for meeting after court, left around 3;00.. I immediately called onc. center, they had an opening for next morning at 10:30.  I went and had chemo then, drove back to Knoxille next day for nulasta.  At the same time, Elizabeth (MIL) who had gone home for four days was flying from Fl. back into Chattqnooga to help Dh with a business trip.  Dd drove opposite way to Chat. to pick her up. They left on Sun. and won't be back until Fri. night.

See why I was worried.  But all schedules worked out and went so much more smoothly than if I had tried to plan it all (which is what I would have done before BC).  I have learned patience, ladies.

I have enjoyed my week of solitude.  Been so long since time to think and be quite. SEs have been best ever.  I had an extra week, have really been taking care of myself and don't really don't know what made the difference, but this is day 7 and am feeling quite well.  Actually contemplating getting out of the chair today and doing laundry.

Also this whole thing has had me thinking of all the notes, pictures, momemtos I have stuffed in drawers for all these years.  So, while we were in Knoxville last week I went to Hobby Lobby and bought two scrapbooks (one for family and one general) along with supplies.  I would hate to think that if anything happened it would all just get tossesd.  Much of it needs to be, but I think two DD's would enjoy keepiing some of it.  One DD has birthday on Oct. of so I will concentrate on that one first.  Have no clue what do it, so right now I am just sorting.

Kimberly, first day back.  Hope it goes well.  I.an thinking of you.  So glad you had such a wonderful summer. Read on another thread about Carol,s visit.,Sounds so nice, wish I could have been there for dinner.

Faith, so glad you are taking some time for yourself.  Enjoy every minute.  We had a camper at the lake and loved it.  Then we made the decision to buy the house across the road when it came up for sale.  Sometimes I regret it almost.  No time anymore for reading all day.  Think I may try to make some chanages.

Footie, hope things are better with you.  Thanks always for thinking of me.  Let us know how all of your problems resolve.  Wish I could help in some way.

Puppy, read on another thread that you are still under the weather.  So sorry and many prayers coming your way.  We miss you.

Suz, are you busy?  Teletubbies again.  Hope you are having fun and enjoying what must be getting close to fall for you.

I have no energy either.  I'll think about doing something then decide it can wait until tomorrow.  But I am getting tired of my attitude and am going to try to push myself harder.

Norm, good to hear from you.  Get out in that boat.  Don't be like me.  Would also love to see pictures, but can certainly sympathsize.  I have no idea how to post a picture either.  My DH's husband boat died this summer and we are shopping around.  The motor apparently had a manufacturers defect (out of warranty), it was going to cost $5,000 to repair with  no guarantee it wouldn;t happen again.  We found a man who needed a boat and already had a motor.

Think of you all.  Glad everyone's life is moving forward.

    Take care,

    Joy

Joy: thanks for taking the time to clue us into all of the proceedings and non-proceedings, as the case unfolded. The feedback sounds encouraging, indeed.

So sorry you were in such discomfort -- but glad that it apparently resolved itself. I can't even begin to wonder what that sort of stress does to one's ordinarily healthy body.......

    You deserve a medal.

Isn't it great that Norm has a new baby, grand?? And a boat. Plus that new little car..... Norm, I'm just so glad that there are things that are being added TO your life over these passing weeks.... adding into months and then seasons.

Our youngest daughter just joined us today. I've been to the airport (2 hr drive one way) to pick her up. She is the first of our cumulative of four kids to make it up here. She's impressed, but now napping. LOL. She had to get up at 4:00 a.m. to make the early flight.

We have tickets tonight to a Neil Simon comedy. fun fun............

hugs to KimberSIS, Puppy, Footie and Suz.

    triple hugs to Norm!!

    Good evening Angel Watchers,

I am bushed, exhausted, whipped, bone weary, tired!!!!!  I didn't sleep well Tuesday night. Up until 12:30 or so, finally fell asleep about 1am or so. Got up at 6:30, showered, emptied the dishwasher, had a pear and a slice of toast with PB on it, then got my little 'stang to the SMOG place. I was second in line at 8am, and we had to wait for the machine to warm up, then I'd be done in 40 minutes maybe an hour, so I took myself walking up into old town Lincoln. Stopped for a coffee (forgot to tell her decaf...whew I was flying...). I bought a great tall breast cancer ceramic mug with a travel lid on it while there and also got a breakfast sandwich thinking I'd be working hard today and would need more than a pear and a slice of toast. I sat and ate, read the local rag, and sipped my coffee for a good 30 minutes before walking back to the SMOG place. Got to school at 9:05 just ahead of my helpers.  We put all the furniture back, cleaned off shelving units, filled them with books and stuff, did bulletin boards, and laminated posters. My room looks great. I just have a few things left to do to make the room work on Friday, and then I have the rest of Friday and most of Monday to work on curriculum. Kids arrive on Tuesday.

Today it was meetings all day...no classroom time at all. I'm feeling just as tired from that as I did from putting the room together yesterday.

So, Faith is still R and Ring, Norm is waiting for the rain to stop so he can go fishing, and Joy is back from her trial(s) and tribulations with hope and a new attitude. WhooHoo.

Hugs to Puppy, Footie, and Suz from me, too.

I'm whooped and need to just go be quiet for a moment.

Goodness KimberSIS -- remember moderation in all things. I pray that you are granted enough energy for each day as it unfolds. Balance. (LOL: listen to me extol the virtues I seek.)

Joy, Footie, Puppy and Suz -- hugs to you in the midst of your journey.

Norm, know that I continue to send prayers and blessings, energy and strength to you as you continue to wrestle with every significant and important question in the midst of your daily walk. I pray that you are guided forward by all the loving memories that you've stored in your heart. I'm grateful for the new 'family-of-friends' that have gathered here to support you. We are cheering for you Norm. Have the rain clouds parted? Did you get your boat out onto the lake? Any fish stories to share? My grandpa always said that I was the best 'fisherman' he knew -- I think because I could sit quietly by the hour and appreciate the time spent with him. LOL: I never baited my own hook or took the fish off -- I just was very patient at holding the pole. funny

Hey Faith, thanks for looking out for me.  I so need to remember balance, but for me getting my space ready at school and being ready to go is what I need to feel balanced once the year starts on Tuesday. I've got one more day to get last minute things put together.

So the wine making adventure continues: My dh has had his nose in the 'must' daily as he punched down the skins twice a day. This morning the sugar levels told him it was time to go from cold soak to fermentation, so Kimberly was up to her elbows in grape skins squeezing out the juices. My fingernails and cuticules are a beautiful purple.  I'll be jumping in the shower right after I finish posting to see if I can get more of this off. We are now in fermentation mode.We put the skins and seeds out in the yard under the vineyard to encourage the good yeasts to grow and to fertilize the vines. So, we've decided to call our winery Forbidden Gate winery(our HOA has deemed our beautiful fence and gate must go as they don't  and our first vintage ,Second Leaf, and our blend, Merlotah.

Gotta run, off to a movie. Hope all the angel watchers are doing well.

    Kimberly,

Your winemaking sounds fascinating.  What fun.Good luck next week.  Tr y to get some sleep.

Faith, so glad you are taking time for yourself and dh.  How nice dd could join you .

Debbie and Suz, hope you are just busy and that's why we haven't heard from you.  Check in when you can.  Debbie, hope you are feeling better.

Norm, hope you have been out in your new boat by now.  My dh is out fishing right now.  We have rock fish here they weight betweeen 15 and 20 pounds and he heard they are biting.   He says they fight like a shark so he is excited.  Of course he lets them go but he so loves the challenge.  How is the new grandbaby.  Hope you are dioing well. Think and pray for you daily.  Please keep in touch.

Tomorrow is muga to make sure my heart is ok for two more chemos.so off to Knoxville early am.

We have spent most of the day outside on the porch.  Cloudy, but no rain.  I think some of the effects of Fay are coming in.  Supposedly rain for next two days, and we really need it

Going in to watch closing of Olympics.  We have enjoyed it more this year than the last few.

Hummingbirds have been feeding at our feeders almost continually for the last few days.  Guess they are getting ready for their southern journey, so fall is on the way

Hope everyone had a nice week-end.

Hugs to Norm and those walking here among the Angels.

I just read on another thread that Puppy is having a much slower recovery from her brain surgery, than she'd want. I know that she'd be especially grateful for our continued prayers at this time of slow progress.

Today I prepare to fly out tomorrow for a back-to-school training to start the year in Cinci. Love to each and all -- to last you until I return.
