I really believe that 99% of all men would cheat with the right woman pulling at their weakness. We as partners use sex as a ploy ourselves with our own men. So you know how easy they are.
Yes , men are dogs in heat most of the time....... ALL MEN
-
Paulette, I assure you, I don't blame either party more than the other. I don't like women who go out with married men (and particularly women who chase them). I try to think of my own reaction if the same thing were done to me and act accordingly. But I also wouldn't judge EE for her decision to stay with JE. It's her decision, not mine, and her right to make such a decision.
I agree that this is a political thread, since none of us would be here commenting if EE and JE were not public (political) figures.
Linda, Most industrial nations provide their citizens with health care and most of them do it effectively. I don't believe that Americans are so lacking in administrative skills that we also couldn't manage to do the same. Perhaps we are less capable, but I prefer to think not. It's a knee jerk reaction to say we don't need universal health care or can't manage one effectively. That being said, I'll be happy to discuss this issue in depth on the Hillary thread.
The Republicans don't, in fact, get rid of their messes until they have to, much like the Democrats. This is not a Republican or Democratic issue. JE could just as easily have been a Republican and acted just as stupidly. As all of you know who read the political threads, I'm not delighted with Barack Obama as the Democratic nominee, but it's unfair to suggest that he's another Edwards or Clinton. In truth, John McCain fits the bill in that respect more than Obama does.

Mary Lou
If I could take the cancer from my wife's body and put it in mind, I would. Cheating on her now or any time over the past 30 years is not a posiblity.
-
ibcspouse, awesome to hear you say that. My husband agrees, Maryiz
-
Mary Lou, that's so cynical. I don't believe that at all. Maybe you've had bad experiences with men and/or marriage, but cheating is not the norm and who do you think these men are cheating with.
I slept with a married woman a few years ago and it was a huge mistake. Beforehand, I didn't think it was a big deal, since she was questioning her sexuality and I figured she couldn't experience a woman with him. Afterwards I felt so much guilt and shame. I knew it would never happen again. She seemed to think that we would have an affair and I said no way. She never felt a bit of guilt and I felt enough for both of us. I told her I was wrong about it being no big deal to me and I felt like she needed to deal work out her issues and figure things out without me. She mistook my words to mean that I would continue our physical relationship if she told her husband so she told him which really creeped me out. She said she didn't tell him details of what we did. She told me he said it was fine (not sure I believe that one) as long as she promised not to leave him and she only cheated with women and not men. I am not into open marriages, I think it's indicative of a lack of interpersonal connection.
To make a long story short, I'm not proud of what i did for me on a personal level. I don't respect what I did and I justified it by saying she could only have a female experience with a female. While that's true, I won't be that female again. None of what we did was my fault in terms of her relationshio, but for me that's not the right thing to do. interestingly, I wouldn't have done it if she was a woman married to a woman, because I wouldn't have wanted to come between them. The woman in question had affairs with men in the past and and at least one with a woman after me., I allowed myself to get caught up in her justification of the romp.
Paulette, the term you're using refers to people on this board who support Obama, and that's like calling US names. When we make fun of the president he's not on these message boards. I think there's a distinction between making fun of public people and making fun of people on this message board. The term is insulting because it insinuates a lack of thought, knowledge and research about our candidate and a blind loyalty without seeing flaws. You may not haveintended the word in that way, but since people have taken it that way I hope you'd avoid using it. If I used a term that you didn't like and you explained to me why that was without attacking me, I'd be more than happy to use a different term, but I won't change the way I talk about the soon to be ex prez unless you're him, his wife or one of his daughters.
-
Amy...to the best of my knowledge, Obama isn't on these boards and there is a BIG difference in calling you personally a name and referring to Obama as the Obamasaiah.
"When we make fun of the president he's not on these message boards" ...BUT HIS SUPPORTERS ARE so where is the distinction? Like Shirley says, it's OK for some but not for others! I cannot believe you even made that statement Amy...I surely hope you see the distinction! So then I won't change the way I talk about your candidate unless you're him, his wife or one of his daughters. OK?
-
Amy of course the term Obamamsaiah is a term that conservative talk radio has given to Obama because of the way left wing media is covering him........you have to admit that MSNBC and CNN treat him like he is the second coming and that he is going to fix all our problems which of course is not true......he can't...........he will not have that kind of power........for us on the right it's just a way to for us to voice our frustration.............as far as Edwards is concern yes we all make mistakes...........even Republicans..........his problem is going to be the money.........there looks like this woman has already received somewhere between 7 and 15 million dollars and Edwards is going to have to account for every single penny and where it come from.......he could be in a lot of trouble if it is found to be from has campaign contributions..........it looks like it is going to be turned over to the AG and probably the FBI for further investigation........Shokk
-
Are there really bush supporters left? Paulette I take that to mean your going to continue to use the term.
Shokk, the left wing media bias just not true. There was a study that showed McCain got more favorable press from these so called liberal media outlets by 20% points. More media doesn't necessarily mean better media. The term is about Obama's supporters not just about the media.
Shokk, I agree with you about the money, whether or not he knew about the payoffs is beside the point, IMHO. When you're running a campaign or white hourse the buck stops here and you've got to take responsibility for what people do on your behalf. If I were a financial contributer to Edwards I would want my money back, even if it was just $5 on general principle and if that money came from the campaign he should suffer the legal consequences. They always say it's not the crime, but the coverup that gets people in trouble, not that adultry is a crime.
-
Amy...you just don't know when to quit...you know d*** good and well there are Bush supporters left. I know you can't be that out of it so I will attribute that comment as an attempt at humor.
Tell you what Amy...admit there is no difference between you fine folks and your comments and my comment and I will call it a draw. Oh and one more thing, since it is an insult to the Obama groupies when he is joked about and you would prefer not to hear that because it offends all of you, then quit making comments as well...like the one you just made...OK?
-
AMY! WOW, the word "attack" must come easily for you. IN NO FREAKING WAY was Paulette attacking anyone on this board by using the, I call adjective, name Obamamassiah. How many people have called Bush a liar and WORSE? Even after Congress voted for the war? And I resent it when McCain is brought into this discussion about his affair 30 years ago. It was different. He left his wife and married the "other" woman. He and his ex have an amicable relationship. The ONLY reason the dumb A$$ Edwards brought McCain's name into it the night of his interview was he wanted everyone to know our presumptive republican nominee DID IT TOO! He sounds like an immature child...he hit me first...waaaaawwwwwwww. Do I think McCain was wrong? Yes. HE WAS NOT RUNNING FOR THE HIGHEST OFFICE OF THIS LAND (or any office) AND LYING ABOUT IT!!!! PERIOD! It's comparing apples and oranges. Why didn't Ewards bring up Bill Clinton? Nooooo...he had to brink up a republican candidate.
He does not give one crap about the poor. He lives across the street from a trailer park. He does not talk to those people. He jogs right past them. Does he stop and speak to them about their troubles OR ANYTING? No, They think he's a snob! He's a phoney. The reporter could not find one person in that trailer park that he jogs by everyday say one thing good about this man. And I wouldn't trust him in anything..even healthcare! He's rich! Why would he want to "socialize" with dirt poor people. I mean, he even owns a home on Figure Eight (I live in Wilmington and it's not far away from me) where there's multi-million dollar houses on that gated island.
I'm beginning to lose faith in many of our politicians. Perhaps we need to start limiting the terms they can serve. There's so much corruptions. So much pork barrel spending that on both sides of the aisle that goes right into their pockets.
Whatever EE decides to do is tine with me. It's her life. But she and everyone else has got to understand they will not have privacy. They have become public figures and so their IN the public. I would hope this scandal would scare the PANTS ON men or women in office. But, they'll forget and think they can get by with murder just like Ted Kennedy!
One more thing about calling names. I suppose if we called supporters of Obama on the Obama thread Obamaniacs that would be calle those people NAMES..close to attacking.
-
Oh, and calling Fox news Faux news..that's a joke! You are attacking us who watch Fox news. I would call Keith Olberman one of the biggest jokes on MSNBC. And, since Fox is Faux why is their rating way above the other cable news shows. I know I'm off subject. But I can make it part of the subject. O'Reilly mentioned the "scandal" before there was GOOD proof and he said he would not talk about it until there WAS proof. Why did the mainstream media, Faux New York Times, run a front page article on McCain and some woman he was accused of flirting with or seeing when they had no proof at all? Yes, the main stream media does let the dems off the hook and they look stupid! UNTIL the gossip tabloid beaks a story. Too funny!
-
I debated for several hours about writing this because I don't want to get into another series of back & forth posts but after all the attacks that I personally endured on the "POSITIVE Obama thread", I simply can't hold myself back.
Amy, I really appreciate it when you say that "I think there's a distinction between making fun of public people and making fun of people on this message board" but what in the world do you call it when you and others on your thread imply that anyone who does not support Obama is a closet racist? What do you call it when you and others on your thread make fun of those in the other political threads? You seem to be offended at the use of the term "Obamasiah" (which to me in any case is a reference to Obama, not a reference to his supporters) and yet on your thread there have been insults flung far and wide at all non-Obama supporters. It's been implied that we are all racists, that we are choosing our candidate illogically and without consideration to the issues & and the facts, that we don't have any interest in advancing history and mankind in general. Oh, and if we dare to speak up and complain, you and others on your thread either make fun of us, tell us to mind our own business (you're not welcome here, even if we are talking about you and slandering you) or say that "we protest too much", implying that what you've been saying (i.e. that we are all racists) is true.
Given what's transpired on your thread, I am absolutely astonished at your reaction to Paulette's comment. If you are so upset at what appears to be an unintentional slight, please try to imagine how some of the non-Obama supporters have felt about what's been said about us in your thread. Do you understand now why I felt compelled to respond?
So now my plea to you is that you live by your words and do whatever you can to keep the comments and insinuations on your thread, whether by you or anyone else, on the candidates and not on his supporters.
-
Could we stop with the politics already unless it has something to do with breast cancer? No one will change her/his mind about their candidates based on any arguments here and it just hurts the rest of us to hear the fighting. There are lots of other boards to carry on political discussions but very few boards to go to for understanding about breast cancer and to talk to other people who have been there, suffered that and are still standing.
-
Corgigirl...I am really not trying to be a snotty B...but this forum is Moving Beyond and there are a ton of discussions on here that have nothing to do with BC.
-
I won't post here anymore. Peace.
-
I agree with Paulette. If you're not interested in discussing politics don't click on the thread, but if you are, you're more than welcome to share your thoughts.
Paulette, I'm surprised there are bush supporters left, but I guess since he has an approval rating of 18% and not 0% there have to be some stragglers. It reminds me how people felt about Nixon and how people wouldn't admit they supported him. I don't dislike you Paulette, I actually take the time to read your posts on here and Shokk's posts even though I usually disagree with most of what you think. There are others when I see the name I just skip over what they've written. I don't know anybody who voted for Bush, yet I know people must have. I have one friend who's husband might have voted for him in 2000 but he definitely didn't in 04. In the primaries i knew people who voted for Hillary or Edwards and of course Kucinich.
Back to Edwards, this just seems to get worse for him with the campaign pictures that have surfaced from December 06, unless he ended the affair new year's eve, he seems to have lied again. What a shame that someone with such great policy ideas and so much potential had to lie to the public yet again last week. This makes me really sad, although I'm not surprised any more after seeing his interview. I wonder if Eliz will still speak at the democratic convention about health care as she was originally slated to do. I know John isn';t going to be there, but she didn't do anything wrong except for collude with the lies.
-
Amy, I agree with you about the child being the one who will ultimately suffer because of this. I've seen my best friend raise a daughter whose father basically pays her off to keep the child out of his life so he won't have to be bothered and so his wife won't find out he had an affair. I don't make any excuses for my friend's actions, but her daughter will be 8 in a couple months and she's never seen more than one picture of her dad. She asks questions and once my friend flew to FL so he could meet his daughter. He had said he wanted to... then he never showed up at the hotel. Now I know if people didn't cheat or make other bad decisions they probably wouldn't have to deal with this stuff, but the truth is that there are entirely too many children who pay the price. My heart breaks for my friend's daughter - the kid is gorgeous and amazing and smart and her dad has no idea. This woman JE has hooked himself up with sounds like a sick woman and I think she only wants JE... not what's best for the child.
Erica -
Poppy your story makes me really sad. I hope the little girl doesn;t feel rejected or inadequate. Your friend is in such a difficult position., that's totally his loss. I've worked with a lot of kids in her situation and it's hard to fill that void.
I'm trying not to judge the woman too harshly since we haven't heard from her and who knows who these "friends" are that are speaking to the media and tabloids and probably getting paid to do so. I'll take the words of her lawyer and from her before I make a final decision. I do agree what we've heard about her sounds selfish and not in the best interest of her child. Why would anyone want to commit to someone who cheated....trust is a big thing for me in a relationship.
-
Amy. I am one you are less apt to read. I voted for Bush both times and glad that I did. The very lies that media spread, such as We have destroyed the US brand abroad, that never has it been so low. How is that posible, Germany and France have elected pro American Governments, The Labor Party in England has expressed their support and friendship for us. Most former soviet block nations , Poland, the balkans, the Ukarain, Georgeo and the caspian and black sea countries are all pro U S amazing positive actions by Yemen, Libia, North Korea, India, Pakistan, and African countries. Americans can now travel freely abroad with no more risk than any european.
In 1968 Bobby Kennedy was killed by a palistian because of U S foreign policy. Even Clinton protested with 10 s of thousands in Europe in the late 60s and early 70s During Carter time, not only did we have our soil invaded, but amerians embassy personnel were held as POWs for 444 days while he order operation Rose Garden, hide your head and hope no one notices we had war declared against us. I Had a passport at that time and received an avisory from State Department that it was not safe for an American to travel anywhere outside this hemisphere. The highjackings, the wheelchair off the deck, Blackhawk down, the towers the embassys the cole, the developement of Al Quida, All before Bush.
Bush said in his speech after 911, This is a war against that will not be won in 1 year or 5 or even 50 years. Some will be open some will be covert. Some popular some not. He never lied. In 2004 exit polls showed his highest polls were on his honesty and integrity, So the Dems began a four year plan of distroying that. Every dem made lied Bush's last name. Forget that in 98 Clinton stated the policy toward Iraq was regime change, approved by over 90 Senators.
I strongly believe that poverty, loss of hope and no education are the roots of terrorism. The Military cannot defeat if. What the military can do is to use as one of many tools to remove the impediments to a development of free will and prosperity, such as thugs like Saddam or the Taliban. Let people have hope for a better life. I would vote for a third term. As for low polls, somebody must watch MSNBC. I have just never meet anybody that admits it.
-
well I guess this thread turned political instead of gossip over the last two days I was away.....oh well....off to other threads, can't stand when grown people have to bicker needlessly.....
-
I maintain the same low regard for cheating spouses and the male or female who makes the cheating team. Mom always said it takes 2 to tango.
I certainly don't return to the 50's-60's where Everything was left up to the female to either call a halt to have sex or not. that was back in the "day" when "boys will be boys" and girls who have sex are whores. A

Hello ladies..........Corgigirl please understand us political junkies love the debate......it really is nothing personal..............I believe everyone's opinion is important..........Amy and I are on completely the opposite sides politically but every once and a while she will say something that will make me think about a situation differently........I still may not agree with her but she makes me think..........keeps me on my game..............and she reads my post because she likes me.........ha..........she could never tell her left leaning liberal friends that she likes a science hating, fence straddling, not just a Republican but a Conservative, pro life, voted for Bush twice, gun owning Texan but she does............
................anyway I digress............getting back to Edwards I could be wrong but I think he is in love with this woman and I think he has ever intention in being in THEIR child's life..............I believe that he did father the child (a girl right?)............and wants to be a part of the child's life...........jmo (about my whole post)............Shokk

I hope Elizabeth gets the 25,000 sf house and Johnny has to move into the trailer park across the street with his squeeze. Has anyone noticed that their whole family ( except for the narciscist) have seemed to gain a lot of weight. The stress he has caused his family is sickening. To think that people had faith in this man to lead this country is just incredible. I do not understand how anyone could not see through right through him. He always seemed so shallow to me. Why are people so partisan that they will back anyone who is from their party?
Shokk, it is good to hear from you again. I know you do not post on the rep. thread much because there is no one to argue with, (LOL) but we miss you!
-
(((Linda)))).........I miss you guys........I simply could not keep up.............been having treatment for stage IV sarcoidosis which involves high doses of steroids and it makes me aggressive........afraid I will say something mean which is really not my personality..........(I think I hear someone snickering).........anyway I will be back to the Republican thread soon...........probably by the time the Dems have their convention.........getting back to Edwards it now makes you wonder if this is the first time Elizabeth has had to deal with this situation............there very well could have been other women.......after all he is the "Breck Girl"..............and wonder what Anneshirley thinks about if Edwards had not been in the race would have Hillary secured the nomination?.........I need to go read the political thread..........Shokk
-
I have to agree with all of you -- AND Rush Limbaugh!! (probably the only thing I ever agreed with him on!) -- about JE always seeming like "the Breck Girl" to me. Always gave me the creeps. To me, he looked good on paper (I even thought that he was doing good deeds as a trial lawyer), but I could never stand to look at him or hear him speak.
-
Okay--way out of left field here but just passing on some discussions had at a reception at Gracie Mansion the other evening--
Possibly Hillary and/or her group were the one who passed info to the National Enquirer to assure that JE would not be the VP candidate and possibly give Hillary a shot at it.
Don't throw veggies!!! Just passing on what I heard. . .
No, I am not a big wig--the reception was for the Amerian Bar Association of which DH and many of our friends are members--only reason we got the invite.
And I think as far as the whole JE affair thing goes, we ain't heart nothin' yet. Stay tuned.
And, fwiw, I would love to see Mayor Bloomberg run for president next time--he sure will have my vote after all he, following Rudy, have done to make NYC a much better, safer, cleaner place to live.
p.s. Anyone up on the basis of the cases that John Edwards made his fortune in winning? New research has shown that it was al based on bad science, and if these cases were tried again today, he would lose.
Backing out here now . . .
-
Hey Everybody!!
I just finished reading a few posts here and WHEW!! Let me catch my breath!! We are all entitled to our opinions and beliefs. Republican, Democrat, black, white and any other nationality!!! That's what makes this country so great and I have proudly served in both Gulf Wars!! Because for all its faults, and ugly truths, we are a great country no matter who's running it. I love it.
We can debate all night about scumbags, cheating husbands, cheating wives, other women and morality in general.
But we all must remember that even with all the advancements in technology, medicene and science, human nature has never, and will never change. Never. There have always been cheating politicians. There will always be. There have always been bigots and racists. There will always be. Murderers, rapist, crooks, thieves are no more prevalent than they have always been because of unchanging human nature.
I believe we all have a contribution to make to society. Sometimes good, sometimes bad. But since we are all adults, and we have learned to live our lives in spite of a cancer diagnosis, we can all learn to exchange ideas with out hurting one another.
Please take care everyone.
-
Alrighty then...I peeked in here to see where the John Edwards discussion had gone (the one that my friends and I have been emailing about has more-or-less ended up with all wanting a new presidential ticket: LIZ AND LORENA FOR PRESIDENT!) and see that world events and politics are being argued. Oh well, definitely not my comfort zone. But I won't leave without posting a copy of an ecard that came to my attention today. Its from someecards which, as some of you may know, is an extremely irreverent and very funny ecard website. Here ya go....
Ah, ya gotta love the sense of humor!

"So the Dems began a four year plan of distroying that. Every dem made lied Bush's last name. Forget that in 98 Clinton stated the policy toward Iraq was regime change, approved by over 90 Senators."
Thank you, Ibcspouse, for telling the truth, and having THE INTESTINAL FORTITUDE to stand up for what you believe!
I too voted for him TWICE! When Father Bush ran I stood in line for three hours with one of my dds who was voting for Clinton...we canceled out each other's vote. We stayed so if we had any gripes we couldn't say we didn't vote. LOL
I also appreciate you coming here on behalf of your wife. If you should become too bored, please visit us on the Republican thread. Oh, I do believe you've already visited, but keep coming back.
