I saw a boot preview... omg I'm in heaven-- lots of platform boots coming in for fall!!!!
for those of us who are addicted to heels-- this is like a dream come true.
-
Has anyone read about the Goth Lolita craze in Japan? LOL Looks like a keeper!
-
Whatchu talkin about Wilis?
-
Woo Woo, Google Japan Lolita. There was an article about it in this morning's paper. We are WAAAAYYY behind the times on this one.
LOL
Some of those boots look right up your alley, _________. (You know who you are!)
Whew! Hot and humid day and I'm rather po'd about it. Methinks I need a frosty libation to change my attitude.
-
Tina,
Googled (or rather Yahoo'd) the topic at hand.I have to say that I kind of like the Goth Lolita - not the pale pale make up, but the eyes (and, of course, the black clothing!). Now, these boots, my dear - where are they? I couldn't find a pic of the Japan Lolita boots - although there are so many Japanese Lolita categories, I wasn't sure where to look for them.
It's hot and very steamy here as well and I am having a frosty libation to celebrate this humid August evening - a Mic Ultra. Not exotic or colorful and requires no umbrella, but very refreshing nonetheless. LOL

the shoes for my dress for my engagement party
http://chineselaundry.com/indShoe.asp?type=p&id=3536&sess=080208107157580495
I swear the pics don't do it justice-- I love them sooooo much. I want to wear them out so badly already.
-
Beth - They look adorable ... did you get them in black or did you get the multi-colored ones?
-
actually, I recommend you begin to wear the shoes, even if just around the house---you will be "happy fee" if they are already broken in on the big day.
-
I say buy two pairs and have a ball right now. Or, as practical Dotti says, start wearing them now but stay out of the rain and mud.
I will have to find some pics of the boots and post them here.
-
Ready, ladies? Grab your popcorn!
-
I can't get down with that style at all. Black and white are my favorite colors, but that's about as far as it goes for me.
The shoes for my dress are so comfy I could run a marathon in them. I changed the dress yet again at the last fitting. I nixing the white part altogether and the entire dress will be black and pink.
I need to start shopping for accessories... I need black bangles- not cheap ones, but I can't afford the Chanel ones either. The party is four weeks away, and I am so ready for it to be over.
-
Eeeks - a little too ruffly for my taste and almost pervie in a way. Still like the black.
Just a ps to clarify the above - not the shoes, Beth - the Japanese goth...
-
Well, yeah, ladies. I wasn't suggesting we go that route. We are ALL a tad beyond the Lolita stage. LOL Actually, ROFLMAO!
It's just nice to know what the current craziness/trends are so that we don't get too fossilized. (Get down on that style??? Oh, my. What could that be???)
-
LMAO. get down WITH, not ON. ha ha ha
It's young people talk, for I can't get into that style. love u tina.
It looks like Mary Poppins on Crack.
I actually think my dress is going to be ready this Sunday. If I make one more change to it I am going to murder someone or something. I took out the white, and now we're going all pink and black, and I am just ready for it to be pressed, and steamed, and hung in a bag, in my closet where I don't have to look at it for at least 3 weeks. Then maybe I'll get excited about it.
-
So I have a dirty mind. Now you know.
-
Oh, and tell us what you are looking for in the way of bangle bracelets.
-
maybe stacking three like this
http://www.kaboodle.com/reviews/black-acrylic-bangle-bracelet
but i really want....
-
From over $2300 to $13.99? That's quite a jump!
Seriously, exactly what is it about the Chanel bracelet (also plastic) that you love so much? Is it the width? the logo? the pearls? If you didn't have the pearls, what stones or decorations would you like instead? In what design?
-
I love the width, and I'd choose rhinestones over pearls any day.
There are other chanel cuffs that are a few hundred dollars- still too much money in my opinion, but I want a chunky fun black bracelet.
I started looking on line, and it got too overwhelming, but with only 4 weeks to go I need to shop soon.
-
Beth, sent you a PM on this.
-
I usually begin a search for anything on ebay. It's amazing the numbers of different things one can find. Even if I don't buy it there, I get a lot of ideas. LOL
Hey--I had a find on a shopping trip(all the way to and from a family reunion) and lucked up on 3 swim suits for $25 each at TJ MAXX! And I am a plus size gal! These are the Longitude line with a longer torso. Great quality and love the fit! Even picked up 2 summer cotton robes at Dillards and one was 11 bucks! Ah, I do love the end of the summer season! Got a silk jaquard smoking type jacket for $7 at a consignment store sale -- it'll look great with a tank top and jeans this fall and winter. also got a Ralph Lauren stripped shirt for 3 bucks!
I concentrate on bargins so much better with no husband along!
-
I'm so excited, girls, I could dance! Bought the August InStyle issue yesterday and it is so full of stuff I love, I don't know where to start. Well, how about this? Page 95 has these Louboutin boots but in a lovely RED!!! Just for me! Only $1145.00 so it's moot, but I can lust can't I?
Oh, be still, my heart.
Raye, you should find umpteen shoes you love in this issue. Beth, that goes for you, too.
Dotti, there is an article about Isaac Mizrahi and his best shopping tip is "don't bring your man." I had to laugh and thought of you. Hell, I wouldn't THINK of shopping with my husband.
I want to talk about it more, but I am still too overwhelmed with info. Then, I see that the Sept issue is the Fall 2008 MUST HAVES, and I am just falling apart.
Funny thing is, I have not been liking the clothes the past several seasons but I like so much in this issue.
-
Dotti, I love the sounds of the smoking jacket - too cool.
Tina, those boots look so supple,I just want to touch them. mmm. I love boots. Hell no, "don't bring your man." I don't think I've ever shopped for clothes with my husband. I've taken him for clothes, but to buy my own, no.
I know this is the time to buy summer clothing, as it is on sale, but I have such a problem buying summer clothes now. I want to buy fall stuff. Did I say this last year?? Fortunately, our stores have no boots out yet, which in itself is completely stupid, but much easier on my wallet.
Over to the makeup thread where I have to clarify something about eyeglasses.
-
those boots are delicious....
-
Okay, I like these frames in Ruthenium:
http://www.bestbuyeyeglasses.com/hugo-boss-0088/u/560411.html
and these Kate Spade in the blue:
http://www.bestbuyeyeglasses.com/kate-spade-adora/1206501.html
Neither pair would overpower me. I do have to start thinking of new frames.
-
Oh, no! DH doesn't go WITH me, he waits (patiently, I may add) in the car , mall, where ever and reads or listens to the radio. He's known I'm a shopper since we married and has just gone with the flow. He only gets antsy when I'm gone a long time and find nothing. LOL
-
Can I tell you about my latest fashion purchase? Home fashion, that is. I bought the place settings and some serving pieces. I just love them. In white.
There are more pieces shown on the Macy's site. http://www1.macys.com/search/index.ognc?SearchTarget=*&Keyword=sophie+conran
-
Love the Kate Spades in blue - I think they'd look great on you.
Those pieces above are gorgeous - simple, clean lines - perfect. Is that a light blue table or table cover? I love it.
-
Raye, that's a web picture. The table is painted blue but I do love it. I don't have any such blue in my house and my dining room is natural pine but I'm trying to think of some way to incorporate that color. It does look wonderful with the dishes.
Dotti, you have a gem of a DH. Mine would not sit in a car waiting for me unless I drugged him and tied him up. LOL Not that kind of guy. OTOH, he spent seven hours on Saturday taking down a 30-40 foot tree in the front yard and saved us about 1K. I still think I'll keep him. Very handy and, besides, can be kind of lovable, too.
Will have to check with my opt. on the Kate Spades. Sometimes they will order in a frame if you're interested in it.
-
Tina, have you thought about place mats, napkins and napking rings in that color? That way the beautiful pine table will still show but you get the lovely blue color added and they can be changed with different colored mats and napkins at little cost and at your whim.
