I'm bitchy, I moan, I groan.....anyway.

Hi you all,
Well, I can see my entries were like eye floaters last night. My crazy and pissed off thermometer rose to the inane post level. (OMG now I'm seeing palindromes everywhere!.....level....need to remember that for the palindrome thread) Edginess makes me....edgy.
My cheek is quite swollen from biting it rather severely last night while eating a mixed of bowl of leftover cereals from 7 different boxes that were never meant to go together. It looked like something regurgitated from the garbage disposal. After biting my cheek - the cereal did end up in the garbage disposal. Altogether an unpleasant experience.
I seem to have focused solely on my hideous cereal experience along with the fruit vs. veggie issue and missed the reproductive organs irritations.
I remember once being asked by a nuclear guy if I was pregnant prior to being injected with yet another "hot" tracer. I looked him square in the eye - in fact - we were locked eye battle for a few seconds. I said, "Young man, do you have ANY idea how old I am?" He looked at the chart and looking back quite embarrassed said the hospital rules were that he had to ask any female over age 18 up to what was or looked to be age 54 if they were pregnant. (A radiology tech compliment?) I virtually shouted at him...NO I AM NOT PREGNANT!!!! He then presented me with "the release form" to sign and proceeded to get his nuclear show on the road. I felt bad actually, he was nice....and rather cute.
Regarding one's repro organs, I believe they.....and all discussions regarding them are the domain of organ owner's alone. No putting them up for debate. No sharing clauses. No conniving questions designed to delve into one's sexuality or preferences. No persevering questioning. A simple yes or no should suffice. Boring the issue with an awl (Hi Pam and Rock!) is not to be tolerated. Enough is enough and most of us have had quite enough.
This business of questioning us as though our minds are distinctly remote from those organs and unable to track their goings-on is rather insulting.
As though we are the wild eyed hormonally overcome mindless creatures pictured on the cover's of romance novels with our glossy lips parted in helpless submission, our full bosoms heaving and on display...blossoming out of our white barmaids blouses above a waist tightly cinched in black laces whilst we are bent backward over the massive, corded, passionate arm of Dirk - his long wind swept hair falling forward over his strong angular jaw, his dark eyes intense, mouth slanting, descending toward our arched and vulnerable neck, the bulging muscles of his back nearly breaking through his torn pirates shirt, revealing a swath of darkly tanned glistening shoulder and powerful chest, his tight breeches barely able to contain his...(xxx etc. etc.)
Anyway....most of us, I presume, would still have the capacity to remember such an event and would ergo know of any possibility of pregnancy...with either Dirk or some other worthy suitor.
IMO - if we want to keep or lose our internal family jewels, along with the advice of a physician we trust, this is our business. Random questioners with no true 'need to know' should go pick up a romance novel.

Hey LuAnnH, I did not know that about bananas! I guess it's a "sterile fruit" -- it develops from the flower's "ovary" like a fruit, but doesn't have any seeds. I was thinking of rhubard, because cuisine-wise, since it's made into desserts, I'd call it a fruit -- but botanically speaking it's the stalk of the plant (like celery is a stalk, beets, radishes and carrots are roots, spinach, chard, cabbage and lettuce are leaves, potatoes are tubers, broccoli and cauliflower are immature flower buds.)
Okay, now everyone else can bitch about the botany interruption!
Traci and Sue(per13) and Debbie -- and anyone else in a heat wave -- that sucks. Traci, I hope they fixed your AC the next day.
Flyrzfan -- it IS ultra-obnoxious about the pregnancy tests. Especially when they're taking a whole extra tube of blood to do it.
Harley44, I can't believe they're making you "carry" that growing fibroid...
All aches and pains suck.
Nicki, fingers crossed for your MRI results.
DebC -- AWESOME !!!! Clear MRI !!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Ah, Dirk! I do remember Dirk! (He was a pirate, right?) Romance novels: I like to call 'em "bodice rippers."
I'm not sure I want the physician to have a say in what happens to my parts. Even one I trust. My body. My call. How did we go from the days of "It is a woman's decision to do X" to "It is a decision that should be made between a woman and her husband" (*ack* -- sorry Flyrz, I can't pretend that same sex partners have ever been included on any kind of systematic basis) to "It is a decision between a woman, her husband, and her doctor" and then sometimes " A decision between a woman, her husband, her doctor, her Lord..." What's next, how do the pets feel about my ovaries coming out? Has the mail carrier been consulted?
Jaysus, but it has gotten crowded in the decisionmaking circle!! I'm giving them all the boot. (Mind you, I might decide to consult everybody, including the neighbor's cat, but the final call has to got to be mine and mine alone.)
(I wish I could take credit for that observation. But William Saletan said it first. And a helluva lot better than me.)
-
I see that while I was compiling my botany lecture, Hanna was composing her mini romance novel...
and manifesto!
"This business of questioning us as though our minds are distinctly remote from [our reproductive] organs and unable to track their goings-on is rather insulting."

Wow, people. I learned early that a tomato was a fruit, but I never knew that my veggie salads were really fruit salads. I am feeling traumatized to know a cuke is a fruit. I am so confused. Green beans, too? I'd like two green bean sundaes, please. Oh yes, and a squash milkshake. Dinner as I knew it will never be the same. Is this why we lump fruits and vegetables into one food group? No one knows one from the other?
As far as permission for vasectomy... I definitely had to sign on the bottom line for my exhusband to get his. We lived in Arizona.
As far as I know, the only pregnancy test I was given during cancer tx was before chemo could start. I told them it was impossible for me to be pregnant, but they said I still had to do it. I went along.... they never reported the results to me. Heh.
Debbie, if someone called me to tell me I had syphllis, I think I would freak out. What a nightmare.
Harley, hope you can get your hysterectomy soon. I need to go get a pap. Man, I am so tired of doctor appointments.
Deb, you got a clear MRI? Now that makes my day and I can go throw the food (I'm not sure if it's fruits or veggies) into the crockpot and go to work. Woooooooooooooooo!!!!!! *cartwheel*
Love you crazy gals.
Miss S
-
AlaskaDeb -- Clear MRI? HALLELLUJAH!!!! Hell, with that kind of good news, I hereby give you decisionmaking authority over my left fallopian tube. It's all yours. Go crazy.
(Brain tests remind me of when my Dad had his emergency craniotomy a few months ago. They sent the scans to him on a CD. The scans were done with and without contrast. They were labelled "Smith -- brain with" and "Smith -- brain without".)
-
Hey Ann....You said it better!!
This having to discuss 'to part or not to part' with our parts is an unwanted burden and we should feel and be in control of this process.
Rock, I agree with you. I meant our physician's advice only as it pertains to bc management - our chosen physician's medical advice in the sense of full disclosure, i.e., would medicinal intervention suffice (Lupron shots for example), versus oophorectomy or oophorhysterectomy. Regarding egg harvestation, you should not have been pressed by some random medical passersby with a clipboard, inflated ideology, and a nosey questionnaire.
Hey, does anyone know who Ephrem is?? Type oophorectomy then click on spell check.
Apparently Ephrem is the equivalent of an oophorectomy....

-
Rock - your dad has got to save those scans, if only for the labels!

Hey all you banana lovers - haven't you ever let a banana get ripe and looked at a slice? What are those little brown specks?!? SEEDS!

Your amateur botanist buddy,
Lisa
-
LuAnn,
I am not finished reading the other posts, but I just HAD to post just now, to let you know that bananas do indeed have seeds. If you cut them in half, you will see these little tiny seeds.
I'm sure if we keep trying, we will think of something. Peaches have pits, do they count as seeds? I guess so.
-
I DIDN'T SEE DEB'S POST!!!
WOO HOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
"
"
" -
YES DEB! WTG WOMAN! I must have missed the post too, b/c I didn't know you had the results already! YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Makes the day all better! No IOS's now!
-
yeah but can brown spots really count as seeds????? Maybe that is just part of the banana that is over ripe?
you ladies with the prego tests, I have nothing left inside and everytime they ask their questions and under surgery it says hysterectomy and every time I get "is there any chance you may be pregnant?" WTH I have nothing in there, how the heck can that happen? I was about to say I didn't need my husbands consent for my hysterectomy but then I remembered he wasn't alive so I guess we didn't need his signature. Although there is a warrant out for him for not showing up for jury duty. Wonder if I should give them his address????
I started reading this thread around page 98 or so, what does IOS mean? You know since I am a newbie here? Don't want to break all the bitchy rules here

-
Thanks for all the WoooHooing.guys. My vision still sucks, but I'g going to the doc this morning to see if we can sort it out.
Dear Rock -
- I feel so honored to be the decision Godmother to your left fallopian tube. That is an honor I never expected. I don't know exactly what kind of gift I should give Little Lefty to commemorate this event. I figured a little hand knit sweater is always appropriate. Since I didn't want the rest of the crew to feel left out I included Righty and the Pear too.....

love,
Deb C

I'm soooooo glad I found this thread!! Finally a place I can write WTF?!?!? to my heart's content! I'm day 6 post tx#2, (so everything sucks on matter of principle) and for some reason still nauseous, out of Zofran, and chemobrain's been so bad this go-round that dh has grounded me for fear I won't be able to find my way home! Guess I'll settle for a phenergan and a nap......
We need a WTF?! smiley face........
-
Just read this thread for the first time! Fun time gals! And according to my children there is a seed in a banana. It's in the very bottom of it and usually get stuck in the peel. They always announce when they eat the seed.
-
LuAnnH--thanks for asking that question! I'm not alone! I figured my inability to figure it out was just another example of my chemobrain in action.....
-
Oh and as a side note - that's from two kids that have gone through 3 bunches of bananas since Saturday!
-
I'll made myself wake to bitch until I feel like I've got the flow of the thread more!
-
"IOS" means "Issues of Suckage." And those little brown specks in the banana are seeds, I tell ya! They are! They are!!
I have a "could you be pregnant?" story! My gyn - who has been peeking up my dress for 16 years now (delivered my son and all that) ALWAYS asks me what kind of birth control I use. When I say "none" - both she and the nurse turn and look at me like I'm the dumbest woman on the planet. When I remind them - for like the 10th time - that the only person I'm sleeping with - my fiancé - had a vascetomy YEARS ago - they go "Ohhhhhhh." Like, don't they have a freaking CHART that has all that info?!? How about they try actually reading it for a change? Goodness...
Still no word about the office phone lines. Nothing like being in limbo...
But on the good news front, guess who bought a motorcycle yesterday?!? No, I don't know how to ride it yet, but I take my permit test Friday and "walked" it out of the garage, started it and shifited into first gear twice already! The grey lining is that in NY I cannot register the bike and get plates until I actually get my license, which means I cannot learn to actually ride on my own bike! What kind of craziness is that?!?
-
Felicia - that rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Hi, I haven't posted on this thread before, but check in and read daily. We are in Illinois and I had to attend and sign something for my husband's vasectomy. As far as the pregnancy tests, I had to do them for both my surgical biopsy and SNB even though they were only a month apart, but was only charged for the 2nd one. I couldn't believe the price - $75! Next time I'll just bring my own EPT test! Usually they are always on sale at Walgreens. Those procedures were the first ones done and I didn't know enough to question medical authority. Thanks for helping me become aware and educated in all of this.

Felicia, I got the same reaction when I was divorced from my first dh and I went for my physical. I told the doctor that I thought abstinence was the best way to go. But now my dh has had the vasectomy.

Sherri M -- Welcome to the bitchy thread! Good luck with your txs!! Yes, sometimes when we relate some tale from our bc or other life experience, the only thing to say is WTF??
Deb C.-- Hey, could you please, pretty please, knit a sweater for my uterine fibroid, too?? I think it is feeling kind of chilly.
Ann NYC, yes, I was thinking the same thing... to add insult to injury, someone who could NEVER get pregnant, and NOW, I have to carry this fibroid tumor in my womb for the rest of my life?? WTF? I have read that when the fibroid tumor reaches a certain size, and they measure this in terms of how many weeks pregnant we are, (Ladies, I kid you not!) they would then do a hysterectomy to remove the entire fibroid AND the rest of the uterus... NOW, they do things a bit differently. NOW, they make me carry the friggin' thing for the rest of my life, not just 'to term'!
Miss S. -- I don't want to HAVE TO HAVE a hysterectomy, but I would like to just have everything removed, so I don't have to worry about any of these parts that never worked becoming cancerous, and so I don't have such a backache from carrying this fibroid tumor around! This dr. will not do a hysterectomy, unless the biopsy shows cancer, and I don't want that.
Yes, bananas have seeds throughout them, in the very middle, so if you cut them in half, you will see these tiny seeds.
Oh, and besides the ARE YOU PREGNANT question, I also get "when was your last period?" and since I can not get pregnant, I no long have periods, so I constantly have to remind them that I do not have periods anymore, since I am a freak, and was dx'd with Premature Ovarian Failure... and anyway, don't you read the notes in my file? WTF?
Congratulations on the new motorcycle, Felicia!! Way to go, girl!! I took a Motorcycle Safety Foundation class many years ago, and failed terribly. First they gave me a defective motorcycle and it never would go into gear... Glad to hear that you will be riding soon!!
Hope everyone has no issues of suckage today!!
Harley
-

Deb, You are way too talented to let that go! Now can you do boobs for those of us without?
BTW....I think those of you with those parts should have deb knit you a spare part and when next you get asked that question, you can 'reach under your skirts', pull it out and hand it to the idiot asking you that is holding the chart stating it was all removed! IDIOTS techs, docs and little stripers!Harley! How the heck is it going on your situation girl? You really need to change your addy to get a different doc in another town to remove that bad boy and his appendage! Girl, you must be hurting for certain! I can't imagine carrying that around

-
Sherri, I tried to find you a WTF sign but all I found was one with Bush and I wasn't going to go there!! That sucks!! I bet Nikki can find one!!!
-
I found one.

-
Oh I fear I have just ignored this thread way too long. A big IOC to everyone. I was so involved with the Pinkstock activities. I havent forgotten all my friend here, as I love ya all very much.

A big IOS to everyone. Gotta go. The CT of the scan was normal! Ortho tomorrow. I promise to catch up.

Love ya
Nicki
-
ooh, oooh!
I have a favorite one, especially these days!

Lisa
-
Now, Nicki - I am so glad your scan was normal - but please tell me that is not the prescribed therapy dance!
