I have read through several posts and so far, haven't found others from my area.  Is there anyone from Southwest Virgina or Upper East TN on the board?  It would be nice to meet up with some others from this area or at least just make some type of connection.  Hope to hear from you!  Karen

    Hi Dottiebob!

We are very close!  I live in Bristol, VA (Washington Co, VA).  I hope some others from our area find this thread.  It would be great to get together and have a "girls" afternoon out!  I do have a friend who is just finishing up her rads and would probably like to plan a get together.

    SmileHey Karen,

Yes, we are close---Have you done the Susan G. Koman race for a cure yet in Kingsport? I, with my family, have taken part for the last two years and have found it to be very rewarding and uplifting. The survivor celebration the night before is awesome, so if you haven't attended, please try to do so this fall.

Due to poor vision, my driving is limited, but I would like to keep in touch. I am the fourth person in my community that has undergone treatment and surgery for BC. Two are still having Herceptin treatments.

My youngest daughter works for Eastman chemical and her friend is undergoing rads now.

Are you through with your treatments and how are you doing?

    Hi Dot,

No, I haven't done the race for a cure but would really like to.  I will check out the website to get the date.

I finished my last rads in January.  I'm scheduled to complete reconstruction in September.  Hopefully, that won't be the time of the Susan G Koman race for a cure.  This horrible disease is so wide spread.  I work with 2 other women who just finished up with treatment recently.  I also have a couple of good friends outside of work who have battled BC.

    Karen
