And how about if at least a portion of the money donated went towards helping the people suffering from breast cancer, e.g. single moms unable to work, people with stage 4, that are unable to get disability, etc. Research is very important, don't get me wrong, but some of those many millions should be used to actually help fight the damn disease!

    1. I refused to buy pink ribbon socks ... they were $1 more for the same product.  If I want to donate a dollar,at least I can write it off.  Those jerks aren't donating, they're overcharging ......

"It is such a load of crap..."

Just saw this thread and really related to the above comment.  Pink has always been the color I most dislike, even before BC, so BC pink has always irritated me, and the commercialism is disgusting.  It's all about making money and not at all about finding a cure for BC.  I too don't understand why there's so little emphasis on finding a cure.  What I particularly dislike are those articles on new BC drugs that are printed everywhere and talked about on every news channel,  yet when I do some careful research I find that the drug may give women another few months of life.  And because of these articles, many in the general public think that BC already has a cure. Those of us who hate the pink phenomenon should keep printouts of Felicia's article on hand for distribution at the appropriate moment.
