Rad rashes

Help!  I'm finishing my rad treatments today (Yippee!), but I've got a nasty rash/sores under my boob.  The prescription my Onc gave me stings when applied and only seems to make it worse.  I've read some of the other posts and can only find stuff posted in 2007.  Are there any new creams or tried-and-true methods that have come along since?  What about Jean's Cream?  I've got to travel about 30 miles to purchase it but what's another half hour out of my life?  My Onc says to just continue using the cream.

Okay ladies, you've been the greatest help thru this, gimme some imput!  God bless you ALL!

    Hey Sharon,

Congratulations on the end of your radiation.  Sorry that you are having the rash thing.  That always sucks.  I used Aquaphor and it seemed to really help.  You should be able to get it at any local drug store.  It is made by Eucerin.  I hope this helps.  I am sure there will be other ladies along soon to give you other ideas too.  Good luck.

    Keep laughing,

    Jenny

Just thought I would share a hug with everyone.  I figured we could all use one because of what these idots keep doing to our boards.

    Keep laughing,

    Hi Sharon,

I finished rads 2 weeks ago and had the nasty sore under my boob and under my armpit where nodes were removed.  I used aquaphor daily. I would have the nurse put it on after my treatment and would sleep w/it on.  During the day, i applied it and bandaged it before work.  I was having trouble sleeping and the nurse introduced me to a new product called  Solosite.  They have it at the cancer ctr. You put it in the refrigerator and before bed, i would open it up and put it on the sore.  It only works for about 1/2hr but boy does it feel great!  I am still putting it on my sore where they did the boosts.  I hope in a week all will be healed.  Sending  a healing aura your way!

    Carolyn
