Looking for Med Oncologist in Miami

If anyone has been treated in Miami and would recommend their medical oncologist I would love to get the name of their doctor. I'm looking for a doctor to continue follow-up to my treatment which I finished 11 mos ago. (I was Stage IIIa, ERPR neg, HER+, and I did AC & taxol w/herceptin, bilat mast, + radiation w/xeloda...)
I moved to Miami 2 months ago from DC and have been trying to set up an appt at Sylvester/U Miami with a doctor there on a recommendation.
I have forwarded to them medical records they requested from my onc and hospital, which they need prior to even setting up an appt. I was told once they start receiving my records I could make an appt. They should have everything by now except path slides and tumor blocks which they should have in a week or two. I will call tomorrow and try to set up an appt but I spoke to the nurse last week who said "we'll call you".
On one hand I understand that they want all this background info for all cancer patients etc, but to delay setting up an appt, now that they have all of my medical records except the actual slides of my now hopefully all gone tumor, seems unnecessarily bureaucratic and I'm concerned about being seen there. (Will there be more such hassles? I know they are a research inst too, but I don't think these old slides will be relevant to any new treatment should any arise...)
Also, if anyone has been seen at Sylvester and recommends it or an onc there it would be nice to know that it's worth going through this just to get an appt.
Thank you for any help you can offer!

Hi prairie dog:
I know there is one lady who can give you some input. Her user name is "Odalys" and I corresponded with her last year regarding Sylvester when I was dx'd. I see her posts every now and then so perhaps she'll see this soon or maybe you could PM her.
Good luck!
Cathy -
Thanks, thomcat
I will try to contact Odalys too. -
