I have been feeling really nervous about my follow-up with my onc. I have been working alot and have cancelled 2 appointments. I had my bloodwork done a couple weeks ago. I am 4 1/2 years out from diagnoses of triple negative stage 11A no nodes no vascular invasion clean margins lumpectomy 4xac and 4x taxol 33 rads. I think I have alot of post traumatic stress. I thought it would get easier to go to these followups but its not. I have been doing great so far all my tests have been normal. I had a breast MRI  and a chest ct scan last followup and all was fine.  I think I am in freakout mode!! Thanks for letting me vent!! Does the doctor call you if there is something abnormal in the bloodwork? Hugs Patty

My dr always calls me good or bad.  I hate that you are still so nervous 41/2 years out.  I am a year out and see my onc monday.  I am getting that sick feeling in my stomache this week thinking about it and then after the appt I'll be fine until a week before the next one.  Silly?  I'm glad your tests are coming back good.  Don't stop having them!!  You got through the worst already.  Love,

    Mary

No question about the PTSD, even though a lot of teams for cancer will argue.  I used Paxil and was just fine, had no stress or anxiety attacks.  It takes about a year or so to get your confidence back and stop fixating on this darn disease, so the help from the anti-deps was very welcome.
