Any help out there for mammo radiation exposure?

I had my first screening mammo yesterday, immediately followed by 3 magnified mammos and an ultrasound on Lefty to help diagnose a calcification, but a biopsy is recommended. My question is if anything can be done before or after the mammos to help protect or heal the breast from the mammo radiation exposure? I know most folks think there is nothing to worry about with all of the compression and radiation, but it really bothers me.

Hi Catbo~
While I'm no herbal expert, I do recall reading that supplementing with Holy Basil may be helpful in this case
I spent years in "wait and watch" mode and was also highly concerned with the effects of so much radiation from all of my diagnostic/magnified mammos. Calming thoughts being sent your way~

Thanks, I'll check it out. Glad to know at least one other person out there doesn't think I'm crazy ... well, maybe I am, but that's a different story!
While Lefty also has lots of painful cysts, it is still irritated today from the tests yesterday, especially the nipple.
Thanks again.

A person named Leonard who researches alternative treatments posted this on another board in response to a question about detoxing from radiation/mammograms. I hope it helps!

Supplements to Take around the Time of X-Rays (to protect body)chlorella--x-rays: take chlorella 2x/day for 1 month after the radiation
N-acetyl Cysteine (NAC) (converted to glutathione)--take on empty stomach, in
divided doses throughout the day since it may have a short half-life;
recommended by Gammill (5/09) and Robert Rowen, M.D.things that I like both as radiation enhancers and protectors. Some of the
protectors apply also for diagnostic imagery. I like caffeine, Vit E succinate,
NAC [glutathione], fucoidan [in kelp and Modifilan.com] (Gammill, 2010)"vitamin C, CoQ10, alpha lipoic acid, selenium, N-acetyl cysteine [NAC], and
vitamin E succinate"

There is a homeopathic called Xray. Can be ordered online by citizens, do search, looking for 30C, 200C or 1M. I used 200C but will use iM next time
There is also flower essences blend called Yarrow Environmental Solution and the Radiation Repair. More here on search about $15 a bottle.

Why not just get a Thermogram?
No radiation exposure.
