Implant Exchange (oYo) ~ Anyone go/stay SMALL?? (B cup)
Comments
-
This sizing thing is something I never got, and amounts of ccs filled of TEs never meant anything to me.
All I know is that much depends on your size as a person. Your rib cage, big boned, small boned, height, etc...
When I look at my new breasts, they look like b/c cups to ME. However, they occupy far less space that my old breasts did. They are more shapely and less wide, so the bras they fit into are A/B sized (depending on where your shop).
-
I don't get it either.
I just put on a pre-exchange bra sized 36C and it still fits me.
Even though I've had a lift and a reduction of my natural breast and have a 560 cc implant on the BC side!
I tried on a 34 C demi cup bra and it fits too and looks much better than before my surgery!
-
So Marie, you appear to size out the same as you look?
And... Athena, you think you look bigger than what your bra size says?
My head hurts! lol!
I actually like the "look" of my TE's right now for the most part and they are underfilled ..(they actually have "play" in them and are not rock hard) ...so I'm hoping I don't have as much "difference in look" from the implants because of that. I guess I'll just cross my fingers that I made the right decision of when to stop!
-
Susan I completely laughed out loud!!! Ha! - if I could apply this crazy-size logic to the rest of my body, I could get on board with that!!!
...could we come up with some line that's like that side mirror of your car that claims "objects in mirror are closer than they appear"...only something like..."don't mind my size B's dressed as D's!!!"
...yes, I agree with ya'll...I'll never fully understand this sizing-thing!
-
I like that Megan!!! "Objects in mirror are a cup or two smaller than they appear". lol!!!!
-
I don't get all this either. I was told that Victoria Secret bras run small so you can be a bigger size so...maybe it's like jeans. You wear different sizes in different brands lol. It does make it a bit harder to just run in a store and do the grab and go like I do. I like your cup and bra question Susan.
-
I love this thread!!!
I feel like I am a 44 year old waiting to go through puberty! Friends keep asking how big I plan to go....well damned if I know how Ill look with B's or C's or whatever! I tell them Ill just keep filling until I stay stop! My best friend asked if they will feel 'real'....I said 'gee, I dont have a wide range of experience with handling fuller boobs so I have to trust my PS and huband on that one.
If I go for a fitting and they tell me to buy a D I will fall over. Honestly I just want to be a full B (as of today....I might want more later!)...thats probably plenty for my frame and lifestyle.
I just think its time, after all Ive been through, to be Booby-licious instead of just Booty-licious.
-
I heard that about Victoria Sec bras too, soccermom! I don't have much experience with them as they didn't really have much of a selection for me in my pre-cancer size!
SuebeeBC, I get people asking me if I'm going bigger even though they know I am done with my fills. They think I will change my mind and have the PS stuff pornstar size implants in there! lol! I still haven't changed my mind on the "full B" wishful outcome
.... and I too am ready for my booby to match my booty!! lol! (though I wouldn't exactly say "match"... or else that really WOULD have to be pornstar size implants!
)
-
Susan - I just literally choked reading about the porn star implants...My DH is napping on the couch next to me and I was trying not to laugh and snorted!!! WAH HA HA HA!
V.S. just sent me a sale brochure yesterday with a 10 dollar off coupon on bras and free matching panties....very ill timed since I still have one shriveled little boob and one upside down salad plate under my other pec. Coupons expire this month. Grrr.
I promised DH that we would go to VS after all is said and done and he can pick out whatever he wants...LOL. I think its his little fantasy because just having a bag from that store (I like their underwear) drives him crazy!
-
Yes, I think my eyes went like saucers when the lady told me I'd need a D or DD due to the width - simply from me telling her that I had 400 ccs in there. I have tried on my old bras and they did not fit. But I really don't care what bra size I'm wearing. I only look slightly larger than before and my old clothes fit just fine.
-
Oh my goodness Susan you made me laugh so hard about pornsize implants!
-
I am having bilateral mastectomy/snb with immediate reconstruction via expanders 18 March 2011 and I have chosen to be a B or more likely, a small B, much as I am now. I, at one time in my life, was a D, but I have lost weight and I love my tall (6ft 1in) willowy look and I like the way my clothes fit and drape. My husband loves the look too! I know you will make the decision which feel right for you! Best wishes
-
SueB & Soccermom ~
Sweetjolie~ 6ft 1in! Tall and willowy indeed!
... I think smaller breasts make me look thinner ~ and I like the "look" of it more than the "busty" look personally. Now if only my backside would cooperate.
Wishing you a smooth surgery and recovery coming up!
-
sweetjolieb-I love that tall willowy look. I hope all goes very smooth and easy for you!
-
Hi Ladies - just got back from Nordstroms at the Mall of America. I'm another tall one - 5'10 and 154 lbs. I was a 36A or 36B (on a good day). I have 375 in my TEs. Guess what size in a bra? 34DD. Really. Seriously. I look gi-normous. I am officially in the porn star proportions!!!! Called my DH and he could not believe it......
I, too, like the willowy look. My PS keeps saying trust me. Not sure now!
Good luck to all you lucky ladies having exchanges!!!!!!
Annie

This thread is so positive compared to some of the others! I love it! My opinion is that those that are the most disappointed are the women that started with really large breasts and, after reconstruction, they ended up smaller than they wanted. I love my small breasts and I only want to go to a B or small C from my A. Thanks ladies
-
Yesterday the nurse told me my new breasts would be much perkier than the old ones. I said I doubt that much, I was pretty perky due to my very dense tissue… sure enought she checked out the pictures and saw that I wasn't kidding. I think in most cases though this is true.
Anyway she agreed with me that I was a large A/small B. I have a feeling I'm going to end up as a true B. My PS knows but he's still doing more fills. He says he likes a "little extra" to work with. I have now had 5 fills and I'm scheduled for 3 more. He does go very slowly though. I swear last time I was already bumping my foobs into things because they are bigger than what I'm used to.
The one thing that the nurse told me is how to judge the size visually. You look at the bottom of the foobs from the side and see if they stick out/match what you want. Right now the TE's fill out higher up so you can't judge from the top.
-
Pornstar Annie ~ Just kiddin!
... so you got fitted for a bra with your TE's? I never thought of doing that! I did buy a bra for certain shirts to cover up any "nippage" (I had an NSM)...but I know it doesn't fit like it should!
ArleneMarie ~ Hi small breast lover!
... love your bob!
Perky Lago ~ My PS went pretty slow too.... as he said, "it's not a race"
... I bump my foobs into things too, though half the time I don't "feel" it. Crap! ...... somebody could be next to me in a crowd copping a feel and I'd have no idea!
Interesting comment about judging the size visually from the (bottom) side. I still am debating with myself about high profile vs. mod profile. I kind of like the more "athletic" look of the mod profile...plus....our natural boobs look more like that (at least mine did
Plus... if I want the "high profile" look later... I can just wear a push up bra, right?
-
I don't think I want to go to Nordstroms lol
-
We seem to be scared of the big foob. Anyone think of this: Loose Boob
-
I admit it - I am obsessed with boobs...
Since having BC I now look at everyone's chest and on TV try to guess if their implant is under the muscle, what profile and projection, etc....
Am I the only one? Is there a support group for this or am I already a member?
I am having a love/hate relationship with my implant (I'm a UNI). Today I am wearing a crossover sports bra and I really like my boobs.
It's a good day!
I for one am happy that I am smaller than pre-BC and that I can now wear strappy sundresses and tank tops!
-
Love this thread!
I am hoping for full B/small C and I posted pics of my journey so far on Timtam's site.
Here is how I view it: Think of your TE's as how you'll look if you wear a padded bra. Because you'll never get the same projection from silicone or saline.
TE's are like tupperware. They're strong and sturdy and don't bend. Your exchange surgery, to follow my analogy, is like pouring 400 cc's of water from tupperware into a ziploc bag, then stuffing it into your bra. "Where is the projection I had with my tupperware", you will ask.
And the answer is, your projection is now smooshed under your pectoral muscles. They are quite adept at streamlining your implants (your ziplock baggie of water, heh heh).
So what's the answer, how do you get that projection you had when you were wearing tupperware in your bra? ADD MORE VOLUME. Fill that ziploc baggie up with more cc's. BUT, the more volume you want, the larger the implant in base width. That is how they are made. So the trick is to get as much projection as you can without getting the wide hamburger bun shaped flattened look.
Soooo...that is how come everyone ends up wearing a D underwire. From trying to balance out the flattening effect.
Just my thoughts, everyone has different circumstances to deal with, too.
Also I'm loopy on Vicodin.
-
Very good analogy Cameron!
When the PS told me what size implants he was considering for me I actually thought about filling a ziploc with that amount of water and checking it out!
I can tell you that my implant is much flatter than my real breast. I have one of each now and they are not the same projection or slope - very hard to match up with UNIs.
I wish I had known that he would have considered removing my nipple and aereola on natural side for better symmetry BEFORE my surgery!
But today is a good day for me and as long as I look good in my clothes I'm happy!
-
Marie I DID fill up a zippy bag - and my husband said "NO WAY!" LOL.
I also belong to the boob obsessed club. Unfortunately for me, I was planning on having breast augmentation before I discovered DCIS so its been a while that I was talking about boobs. Ive always been very small and then lost weight which made the poor little things disappear. Ive always wanted bigger boobs - since teenhood - and now at 44 I finally decided that I was done having kids and it was time....how ironic. I wouldnt recommend going about it THIS way however!
-
Cameron-love the Tupperware analogy! so very funny and true
-
Lago what is loose boob? I clicked on it and it was unable to take me there...
-
Sorry all fixed now but if you don't want to go back: Loose Boob
-
LOL, lago! That's exactly what I'm scared of!!
I love the tupperware analogy, Cameron! I will have to use that when explaining to the minions!
SueBee ~ Though I liked my smaller chest... I would usually wear a padded bra (to bring it up to a full
for clothes.... I'm aiming for not having to wear padded bras anymore!
-
Lago that is funny. I have never seen that before
That would scare anyone!
-
OMG I have never seen that before!!!! How bizarre!!!
Susan - EXACTLY - the only time I want to see a padded bra from now on is on my left side when my right TE is filling up...once that exchange happens, Im looking forward to some headlights! (well, at least one for a little while)
