hugs Sandy. Hoping for better news soon.
Loved that day lily, Blue. I've never seen one with such gorgeous colors.
Chickadee, you told me once how you handle mail when traveling, but I forgot and now I need to know. Would you mind telling me again?
We are near San Diego now. Will stay for a few more days before starting up the coast toward home. I'm already missing the warmth!

YEAH, poo flinging - can't imagine a better use of time, esp as you'll be with Beloved S. Happy Flinging!

Good Afternoon Ladies,
Gumby ... I am so jealous. I would love to be back in San Diego right now. I miss my grandsons so much. I hope the weather is cooperating with you. It would be so great if you could go to the San Diego Zoo. It's awesome!!
Enjoyful ... How's your arm doing? Got to be careful flinging all that horses--t with your bad arm. Also, did your ankle heal up? I am so happy you and Sampson and Bindi are going to SC. You are way overdue for two months of fun and horsey stuff. I'll let you know when/if I can get down there.
Sunnyflowers ... It's cold here and we had some flurries .. more up in Roanoke. But no snow now. Everyone was so hyped up for the storm here. I saw 13 snow plows out on my way north this morning. They were just sitting by the side of the road waiting. I think the weather people screwed up for our area. Mr. Tim is in Columbus and said the weather is horrendous up there.
I better get moving, I actually have work to do! Yay for me!!
hugs,
Bren

we are planning a trip to the zoo within the next day or so. today we are going to sea world. I visited it when the kids were small and remember getting splashed by a whale but that's all I can really remember of the trip. Hubby has never been so hopefully it will be a fun day.
-
Gumby ... so happy to hear you are going to be able to get to the Zoo. When I lived in San Diego, we had yearly passes so we could go at any time. It's such a wonderful place ... and the gift shops have really cool stuff too.
hugs,
Bren

garden gumby, we belonged to an RV mail service (the Escapees) who forwarded our mail to post offices that would accept general delivery. Most will, especially cities but you have to find which city PO does before sending it. A lot has changed and the PO is competing for some of that business so depending on your travel you should ask about their process as well.

Hey Guys!
I have great news ... I was offered a position with the company I applied with last week. It's a psych account and the position starts on February 4th. It's a new account for the company, so I have not heard the doctor speak ... don't know if he/she is regular English or ESL. And much to my surprise, the pay is in the okay, but not great range. I was told it was in the suck range. And this company also counts spaces as well as regular keystrokes. We get paid X amount per line and a line is considered 65 characters. Yay for me!!
The H/R manager is going to call me tomorrow morning and we'll hash out the details. One really neat thing is they pay you regularly every two weeks and do a direct deposit. It's a full time position and you've got to transcribe a minimum of 1,000 lines a day. That's a lot. It's going to be a challenge for me.
Thanks for all you kindness and support ... really appreciate it.
hugs,
Bren

-
Bren,
Congratulations on getting the job! That company is very fortunate to have you.
-
Yaay Bren!!!
-
Congrats, Bren. Raising a glass of wine!
-
Well done Bren, great news.
-
Bren, things are looking up for you. Wat to go!
Lassie, I think the letter was actually from her BIL. Just my thought.
-
Congratulations Bren!!!
How fast DO you type? The numbers bogle my mind! This has taken me 4 minutes. Now all you need is a clear speaking Dr.

Oh PiP - that's an excellent thought. He has been lurking around a lot and looking very devious, and he was the one who gave them the tickets to the opera which is where they had just left when the photo was taken. I must pay more attention! Blue has a good point too about the plot mirroring a thread on Bones. The shows were about the same time so it may not be that one copied another.

Bren - looks like the vibes we sent worked!!! Hooray!!!
and you were the best applicant

Thanks everyone for all your great wishes and support. It means a lot to me.
Just talked to the H/R person and I start on February 4th. Have training scheduled for next Tuesday morning. I'm anxious to get started and start paying down all those credit card bills we ran up from when Tim was on medical leave for so long last spring. He had that surgery and was off work for 8 weeks with no freakin' income. Now ... it's catch up time!
It is really cold this a.m. The big storm that blew through yesterday only left about a 1/2 inch of snow on the ground. The sun is out, but it's so damn cold, the snow isn't melting. I wonder how it was for Alexandria, Enjoyful and Sunnyflowers and if they got hit hard by the storm.
Suzie .. I was so afraid I had bombed the test. I asked the H/R lady how I did and she said I did a great job!! That made me feel so good.
Kad2kar .. Not sure how fast I type. Pretty fast though. I also use the autocorrect function in Word to make shortcuts. So for a long word such as "information" I only have to type "info" and it spells the word out for me. Cool, huh.
hugs to all,
Bren
-
Bren, does your new job come with health insurance?
-
Bren,
I haven't been outside yet but I can see plenty of snow and ice. The front desk told me not to go outside because it's bitter cold. (Just checked the temp - 6°!)
Congratulations on the job! You must be so relieved!

Hi Yorkie,
Short answer is "no." As an IC (independent contractor) I have to budget for my taxes and SSI, as they are not deducted out of your check. There are no SSI, retirement, vacation or sick days. In the past couple of years I haven't made enough to worry about any of that, but it will all change now because this is full time work. I'm also going to keep the clients I have now and just do that work at night. The clients I have now pay well and the work is easy. If it works out with this company long-term, I will however lose my Medicaid benefits. That means getting married and being covered under Tim's insurance at his work. It also means the weekly insurance copay from his check will double to about $160. So ... I guess there's lots to work out.
hugs,
Bren

Enjoyful .. it is about 23 degrees here and the snow is not melting even though the sun is out. I need to walk the dogs cause Tank is kind've chunky, but it's hard to breathe hiking back up the hills in this cold. I hope you were able to get things straightened out up there and you're not freakin' homeless in this weather!
And ... yes .. I am relieved. Scared too, but very relieved!
hugs,
Bren

BostonSuz got much more snow than we did, but if this ain't da polah vohtex, it's doin' a darn good imitation. Was a little below 0 this am, according to online weather report, the "wind chill" was MINUS 30. Can't verify, cuz even I'm not looney enuf to go out in that. Looks beautiful, sunny, snow cover, but only a few inches last night.
Feel so badly for people using Propane, and hope they have wood stoves too. Sad article in Boston news, small towns in NH, where people are stealing firewood...all the towns have supplies for emergencies, seems so strange to hear of thefts...crazy world.
-
Lots to think about Bren. But it seems that you are on a good roll!
-
Brrrr -- not much nicer here. No sun and 21 degrees. Snow still on the ground though it was a small amt. but it won't melt either. A couple of slick spots, but nothing to get excited about too much. I imagine ( haven't looked around for a long range forecast ) when it warms it will feel almost like summer again. It has been doing that which I really dislike.
Bren....you really do need to change your last name soon. Hey.....you know, with a good job, your Ins. would be just $80.00 a week each. Here's to catching up though. Whatever you choose after that. Nothing like the feeling of caught up ffffiiiiinnnalllly.
Hope we all get a little warmer soon.
Jackie
