how about drinking?

Hello ladies...I'm home (as if you were concerned). I have got to check out all the other spots to see what has happened while I was out. How's the troll today? Still lurking about, I take it? And what happened to Nickii? Did the troll bite you?
Marla -
The troll used Nickii for 'show and tell' today! LOLOL
He also accused JulieP of being a deranged stalker. -
Oh, but have you seen some of those football (okay, soccer) players? Yummy yummy yummy! I was swooning in front of the t.v. all day.
Marla, you don't want to know!
Jasmine, he also accused me of being racist. -
Yes... what a day its' been with the troll... and he wants unity ??? yeah right! he wants us to just let him run rampant ... out of control.... still don't know why he really thinks anyone wants him here.... and totally pity his wife... man - I cannot imagine spending one hour with him....
time for another glass of red wine...
Doreen -
Oh yeah, he sure did. I'm still confused on that one!

Just remember, we're pretty smart up here, eh. And we have better beer.
Yep.. you do have good beer up there ... have any of you ever had Sierra Nevada beer ? The brewery is my local brewery and it is sooooo good. Pale Ale, Celeration Ale, Wheat Beer ... those are the three most known.. but they make 20+ different types... good stuff... especially on tap at the brewpub!
Doreen -
Just home and just checking in also - read most of the Unity thread. I suppose that's where the excitement was today. I am off work until next week so I will have to check in a little more often!
HERO! Where'd you go?? Your Oscar story was hilarious. I could just see that fish being carried around! Hey, I hear you about the drinking. I can't stand to be hungover - and the HOT FLASHES are just making me a mess! Maybe I need to inquire about some Effexor or Wellbutrin or SOMETHING! My onc is going to give me the sly-look when I ask him "What can I take so my hot flashes aren't so bad when I drink?" LOL! I wonder what he'll say? I see him in August!
Lupron-type shot tomorrow. Gotta love that stuff.
Janie -
AWWWWWWWWWW! DARN TROLL! I'm sorry Nickii...
I saw where he accused Julie, OF ALL PEOPLE, to be a stalker. Don't get a nice girl angry! Whoooo! He'd better look out!
Thanks for the update! -
I'm gonna catch up on "unity"...be back....
Marla -
"Just remember, we're pretty smart up here, eh. And we have better beer."
Bessie,
Now you went and did it. Them there are motivational and fightin words if I ever saw any. Invasion on. Dress up ladies, we need to go loot. -
Just got caught up on "unity"....grrrrrrr....sorry Nickii! I'd like to cyber-whoop his tail! Not cool!
Marla -
If you're comin' to loot our beer you don't need to do that, ya know. Canadians are nice. And polite. Yes, we are known worldwide for our politeness. (I suppose you've gotta be known for something.) So we're only too happy to share our beer with our fine neighbours from the south.
-
I wanna go to Canada! Never been...
Marla -
come on over, like beesie said.........we're right hospitable...........and we always share our beer (and our pizza)...........we also have way better pizza here lol!.....pretty sad state of affairs when thats all we can offer but we mean well lmao!
-
I love pizza! I'll have to make a trip for some Canadian beer & pizza! Anyone coming with me?
Marla -
By the way, Beesie - I fully understand why Mithel would call you a racist...NOT! That was a stretch if I ever saw one! 2 cents...thrown in....done!
Marla -
He's a jerk for sure - I'll go see if I gotta can of whoopass I can open. Ronda

sooooo, i'm making lunches and havin a beer.......first i drop a can of peaches on my foot (thank god for neuropathy).......then i hook my drain tube on a cupboard handle and pull the sutures right outta my skin.........good grief what a day all around lol.........damned cancer!.........thank the good lord for cocktails! g'night girls from michelle who has taped her drain to her ribs..........yikes, i've about had enough of this BC nonsense lol!
-
shel - I had two drains NY eve 04/05 and I asked the ps if I could drink that night. He said as long as I didn't "get drunk and pull them out" lol. I was getting ready to start chemo the next week, so I took what he had to say and had a few wines and of course, champagne at midnight.

Shel, I see your problem as not having enough alcohol in your body when you're doing these tasks! If you get drunk before attempting them you won't feel as much pain when you drop things or catch your drain tube! HTH! -

Shel, sorry but your pizza is NOT better (were you inebriated when you wrote that?) as we here in Chicago have the BEST pizza! However, feel free to brag about your beer and your athletic young men! -
I'm inclined to agree Janis, we do many things well, but pizza I would not add to the list!!
-
Hmmmm, I cannot speak about Chicago pizza, never had it. But I can speak about New York pizza. The size of the slice alone is unbeatable, if not eaten correctly, the entire topping will wind up on the plate, thick, wonderfully oiled down to offset that slab of melted cheeses. Real Italian sausage, loads of tomato sauce...Then the white pizza at Patsy's in Brooklyn, in the shadow of the Brooklyn Bridge...so good.
I guess we're all eating pizza today. -
I dreamt about pizza last night.....
But I have to disagree about NY pizza. I've eaten a lot of pizza in NY and I still think Chicago has the best pizza places! JMO..... -
PIZZA WARS! That's why I really can't say, cause I never had a Chicago pizza. One thing I do know about N.Y. pizza, you have to really be in the right restaurant. I've been disappointed a couple of times.
-
Don't eat it much myself. Not really good for cholestorol so I'm told. But then again, that could be a myth.
-
Actually, if you lessen up on the cheese, pizza could be cholesterol friendly. But what fun is that? Everyone is up early today, just say pizza and we can hear it miles away.
-
Have had NY and Chicago, they are both famous styles of pizzas, but totally different animals, like apples and oranges. I grew up eating what we call St. Louis Thin Crust, and it is delicious, thin and crisp, so yet another style of it's own. No complaints on any of them, just all so diff.
Never had a Canadian pizza- or hockey player -
Christine? I have had both ~~ The Canadian Pizza AND the Canadian hockey player!!
-
All I get is canadian bottled water! boo hoo!
-

I had a hockey player once, but he wasn't a professional or anything. I just hope he was better a hockey than the other thing! -
Janis, most hockey players are told to save themselves for game day ~~ perhaps you caught him at a bad time?!?!
-
Does anybody else play Bunko? Tonight I am going to Bunko with the girls. Always a good night of fun, food and a few drinks!!
-
I play. In fact, tonight is ours also. We're called the "Bunco Divas", and we pass around a cheesy tiara that says DIVA when you get a bunco. It kills your head when you wear it. You know how much "it hurts to be beautiful". We've been together for about 4 years now. All met during the stressful times of raising teenage daughters. Tell me about your group. I'd love to hear all about it.
Lini -
Nope, never played it, but if it involves food and alcohol perhaps I should start?
-
Bunko? Isn't that what's going on in some of the more disastrous threads?!?
-
You're so clever Sherry. I had to look it up to see what you meant. I always thought it was just a game of dice.
bun·co [ búngkō ] (plural bun·coes) or bun·ko [ búngkō ] (plural bun·koes)
noun
Definition:
swindle: a trick or scheme that deceives people into parting with money ( slang )
[Late 19th century. Origin ?] -
DOH! And here I thought for a few minutes we were on to another subject.....
-
Back to the thread topic. Forgot to mention that occasionally our Bunco becomes Drunko. Lots of fun!!
-
Drunko! Now that's a subject I do like! Tonight after work I'll be back here and there had better be someone for me to hang with.
-
Sorry, Drunko, I mean Bunco tonight.
-
i'll be here..........i have nine 13 year olds coming over for mac's b'day..............alcohol will be required to tolerate this event lol!.........i'll try not to do myself any further bodily harm! lol!
-
Ladies - you are making me want to drink. Now. But alas - I am at work and must remain sober. I'll have to comfort myself with the knowledge that there's a bottle of Merlot waiting for me at home!!
-
Shel-
Do you have any duct tape in the house? Maybe that'll work...have fun & don't let the 13 year olds drive you INSANE!!
Hugs,
Peggy -
Peggy, you've been watching too much "Red Green"!!
-
lmao.........i'll try it!
-
Hi,
I've started a site collecting cancer survivor stories. I am trying to host a thousand stories as I realize the importance of hope and inspiration in fighting cancer. It is absolutely free to share the stories and I will hopefully try to get a book deal with a publishing company once I collect the thousand stories. IF you really want to inspire others, please go to www.mymomhascancer.com
I just started the site so please be kind enough to initiate the response.
Best, Shabbi
