Gosh I don't know....other than I think if a thread has been inactive for a certain amount of time it "goes away".
Guess we could start over. I'm still drinking, so nothing has changed there.
Cheers.

I found the original thread using "search", so I bumped it up.

I'm not sure if I posted on this thread before (probably as I DO drink) but I wanted to add that I don't believe drinking caused my BC (I'm BRCA2+ and THAT's what caused it!) so I do enjoy my red wine and scotch whenever I feel like it! Why does alcohol always get such a bad rap?

All I know, is that I have taken extremely good care of my body my entire life, and I still ended up with atypical hyperplasia. That combined with other risk factors has me looking at a prophylactic bilateral mastectomy at the beginning of July. I get very frustrated and bemoan having "wasted" so much time and energy, denying myself some pleasures like a drink every now and then. Since being ultra careful with my health didn't make any difference in the end, I now am indulging myself a little more. There may not be that many years left in this life, why deny myself some pleasures?

My dh asked my onco about drinking and smoking, Dr. assured me that neither caused my breast or colon cancer. He advised not changing my lifestyle while in treatment, "do what you normally do". Yes smoking causes lung cancer and I am trying my hardest to quit, thats the best I can do. as far as drinking I enjoy it and intend to live what I believe to be quality of life. Everyone has that choice to make, we are all so differant. Cheers!

The way that i look at it is I could have a drink and get hit by a bus tomorrow or never drink again and still get hit by a bus tomorrow!!

Okay, since this thread is about "drinking" I'll just tell you all that a part of my job is wine tasting. Jealous? Vendors come into the store and we sample what they're wanting us to sell. It's fun. Now, we're not supposed to actually drink on the job but tasting is allowed and no one really knows that we sometimes taste more than we should! Sometimes I really do love my job!

hugggssss to all of you with drinking/smoking vices! Glad to see this thread coming around again--as I go get ice and fill cooler with lots and lots of beer! We are in good company, here--hang in there friends!!!
